Residents of du Lac Assisted Living recently enjoyed a special day of history and inspiration when they were treated to a performance by Sheryl Faye, an award-winning actress and storyteller known for her immersive one-woman shows. Sheryl portrayed Eleanor Roosevelt, highlighting her achievements and lasting impact as a global leader, advocate for human rights, and First Lady of the United States. The program was designed to both inform and inspire, offering residents a chance to connect with a remarkable figure whose legacy continues to influence the world.

Notre Dame du Lac Assisted Living residents from Traditional joined Harmony residents for Community Connections on Friday! We had a fabulous time celebrating a Hollywood theme, red carpet and all! We played "Songs from the Movies Name that Tune" and ate Gretta Garbo Swedish meatballs and refreshing fruit. As always, the conversations and connection were great! You are all stars!

Behind every smile is a lifetime of memories, accomplishments, adventures, and experiences that helped shape the person they are today.

Over the coming months, we're excited to introduce some of the incredible residents who call our Health Center HOME. Through this special series, we'll "meet" men and women who have built careers, raised families, served their communities, pursued passions, and created legacies that continue to inspire us every day.

This week, we were blessed to meet Joe M who was an illustrator for over 50 years, most notably with Sesame Street. We enjoyed hearing stories and seeing his creations within books and toys from a remarkable career filled with creativity, imagination, and the joy of bringing beloved characters to life.

The visit sparked wonderful conversations, smiles, and memories for everyone involved. Thank you for sharing your talent and inspiring us all, Joe!

Notre Dame du Lac was bursting with joy and laughter this past Saturday as we celebrated our Family Fun Day Carnival! Families gathered to share a delicious meal together, all while being serenaded by the cheerful tunes of an accordion player.

The air was filled with the irresistible aroma of fresh popcorn, and snow cones quickly became a crowd favorite on this sunny afternoon. Guests enjoyed a variety of games and prizes, along with delightful activities like caricature drawings, balloon animals, face painting, and so much more.

We wrapped up the day with an incredible hoop show by the talented Lill Legume, who wowed the crowd with amazing tricks. Even better, children and adults alike got the chance to step up and try their own hoop skills — and the smiles said it all!

It was truly a day of connection, laughter, and community spirit. Thank you to everyone who joined us and made the day so special!

Notre Dame du Lac recently hosted “card sales” with Sr. Marie Prefontaine to benefit The Sisters of Notre Dame National Ministry of the Notre Dame Mission Volunteers. NDMV places full-time volunteers at schools and nonprofits across the country, providing support in two key areas, Pre-K – 12 tutors, mentors and classroom supporters and Adult Education. NDMV received a three-year AmeriCorps grant to allow them to continue their mission and expand their partnerships.
