Thursday, August 13th - Eye Health Awareness Night at Polar Park for the WooSox vs Buffalo Bisons game. Fun night volunteering with fellow Worcester Lions Club MA members Keri Keane and Harry Duchesne. Ran into a few Lions District 33A friends Colleen Oncay, and Jack Jaillet. Lots of familiar faces both VIPs and sighted friends. Beautiful weather and a 10-3 WIN made for a great night out for all!

On Sunday, June 28, 2026, Olive was inducted as a Worcester Lion as part of the Paws of Comfort canine lions here in Massachusetts. The first canine Lions group made up of Lion Handlers of therapy and comfort dogs was the Southeastern MASS Paws of Comfort Lions Club and then later another MA based club was started on Cape Cod, the Cape Cod Paws of Comfort Lions.

Olive with her handler Lion Kristen Keane has served as a certified therapy dog for the past 15 months volunteering at the Charlton Public Library, Inc. and the Worcester Public Library where the kids read to her and she provides comfort as needed.

On Sunday, Olive became the first canine Lion in Lions District 33A and a member of the Worcester Lions Club. She hopes other therapy/comfort pairs in the Worcester area will join her and Kristen in the Worcester Lions Club to serve 4 paws at a time!

Great project made possible by the Worcester Lions Club MA and Lions District 33A. Worcester resident who recently had a stroke was provided a temporary ramp to allow her to leave her home until she has recovered enought to leave her wheelchair behind. Smiles and hope like this are what makes being a Lion worthwhile.
