Yesterday, we celebrated a historic achievement, our 100th anniversary of serving our community.
Our President, Terri Joyce, said it best in her welcome speech:
“One hundred years ago, ten remarkable women came together with a vision: to serve, to uplift, and to lead. In 1925, we were officially welcomed into the Association of Junior Leagues of America, and from that moment on, the Junior League of Worcester became a beacon of hope, compassion, and action in our community.
Over the decades, we have built a legacy that is nothing short of extraordinary. We’ve supported children, families, and seniors. We’ve championed education, health, the arts, and social justice.
We’ve launched programs, built partnerships, and trained generations of women to be effective civic leaders.
From the early days of supporting Friendly House and the Worcester Cancer Clinic, to the creation of the School Volunteer Project, to the beloved Festival of Trees and Rise Above Care Packages—our impact has been wide-reaching and deeply felt.
We’ve read to children, fed the hungry, clothed those in need, and stood up for those without a voice. We’ve raised funds, raised awareness, and raised each other up.
To our past presidents and board members, our sustainers, our actives, our provisionals, and our community partners—thank you. Thank you for building something beautiful.
Here’s to 100 years of impact. And to the enduring legacy of the Junior League of Worcester.”
