We’re looking forward to seeing everyone tonight at Bowlero Auburn from 6–10 PM for an evening of bowling, fun, and supporting Why Me!

September may be ending. But childhood cancer doesn’t.

For a child facing cancer, life can quickly become filled with hospital visits, treatments, medications, tests, appointments, and uncertainty.

But underneath it all, they are still a kid.

They still want to laugh.
They still want to play.
They still want to celebrate their birthday, make a craft, go on an Easter egg hunt, enjoy summer camp, spend time with their siblings, and simply be a kid.

And just like gold, every child is precious. Their childhood is precious. Their laughter is precious. Their memories are precious.

That’s why Why Me is here.

We support the whole family throughout the childhood cancer journey—providing a home away from home at Sherry’s House, food through our Family Pantry, sibling support through SibSquad, opportunities for teens to connect, family activities and celebrations, summer camp experiences, bereavement support, and so much more.

These services aren’t just about meeting practical needs. They create moments of normalcy, joy, connection, and childhood during a time when cancer can make everything feel anything but normal.

Because a childhood cancer diagnosis affects the entire family. And while we can’t take away the diagnosis, we can help make sure cancer doesn’t take away every moment of being a kid.

Childhood Cancer Awareness Month may be coming to an end, but our work continues every day.

Because every child is precious. Every childhood matters. And every moment of joy is worth holding onto. 🎗️

20 Years of Spree Day!

For the past 20 years, John and Jodi Duquette have generously dedicated their time to hosting a very special day for Why Me families at the 200 Sportsmen Club in Webster. ❤️

Spree Day is a day our families look forward to every year, filled with fishing, archery, a delicious barbecue lunch, laughter, and plenty of fun in the great outdoors! Most importantly, it’s a chance for our kids and families to enjoy time together, make memories, and simply have fun.

A heartfelt thank you to John and Jodi Duquette and everyone who has volunteered their time and helped make Spree Day possible over the past 20 years. Your generosity, kindness, and dedication have created countless special memories for our families, and we are so grateful for all you do!

A huge thank you to Connor Hayes of the Worcester Railers HC for choosing Why Me & Sherry’s House as his charity of choice for the Railers’ Month of Giving!

Through the Railers, Connor works tirelessly helping to organize our annual Bruins Alumni Charity Hockey Game. He also generously gives his time as a member of our Young Professional Group. And he’s not done yet! On October 3rd, Connor will be volunteering his time at Sherry’s Bowl, helping make the event a success. 🎳💙

Connor, thank you for the countless hours you give to Why Me throughout the year. Your dedication, energy, and commitment to our families mean so much to us, and we are incredibly grateful to have you in our corner.

And to the Worcester Railers, thank you for your continued support of Why Me—on and off the ice. Your partnership helps make a difference for children battling cancer and their families throughout Central Massachusetts.

Month of Giving is rolling on! Connor Haynes, Sr. Director of Ticket Sales, selected Why Me & Sherry's House as his non-profit this year.

In addition to his $1000 donation, Connor will attending and volunteering at Sherry's Bowl on October 3rd. The bowling event is a benefit for local children with cancer and their families.

We are incredibly grateful to Lundgren Honda for another amazing donation through their Lundgren Cares Program!

Lundgren Honda has been a longtime and dedicated supporter of Why Me & Sherry’s House, and their generosity has made a lasting difference in the lives of the families we serve.

Over a decade ago, Lundgren Honda employees came together to raise money to donate a minivan to Why Me, giving families a reliable way to get to and from critical medical appointments.
