It’s highlight Thursday!! 🎉 And today we celebrate Florence Mourere! She has served with WARM for many years doing just about everything with incredible compassion, purpose, resilience, and joy. She is dearly loved by our community 💕💕. Thank you for being awesome, Florence!

🌎 Favorite part of volunteering with WARM? Becoming friends with refugees and being able to laugh together!
🌎 Fun fact about you? I have 4 nephews. One lives in Dubai, one in Morocco 🇲🇦 , one was in the USA 🇺🇸 this past year but is in Morocco 🇲🇦 visiting his brother, the other one lives in France 🇫🇷 Talk about family reunions 🙃!
🌎 Favorite comfort food? Croissants 🥐. Oh but of course!

It's Highlight Thursday! And today we celebrate Julie Dostie, one of the most determined, joyful, and faith-filled people we know!! She has volunteered with WARM for almost 10 years and has done everything from leading apartment set ups, to establishing our Friday ELL program, tutoring kids at our Learning Pod during remote learning, and befriending refugees so well that she is now officially part of their family! As a volunteer Core Team member, she is a key player in all we do at WARM. We love you, Julie! 🥰

🌎 What is your favorite part about volunteering with WARM? My favorite part of volunteering with WARM is learning about and experiencing other cultures, and getting to know the special people of other cultures. It is absolutely fascinating!

🌎 Fun fact about you? Hmmmm. I once sang a couple of performances (in a group) with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. I stood right in front of the double bass section. I got to know their part well, with ringing ears 😊 🎶

🌎 Favorite comfort food? ICE CREAM with no close second. 🍦

Today, we honor the strength, courage, and love of mothers everywhere — especially the incredible refugee mothers in our community who have journeyed through hardship with unwavering hope for their families.

Many have left behind homes, loved ones, and familiar lives, yet continue to build new beginnings with resilience and grace. Their sacrifices, perseverance, and love inspire us every day.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at WARM💐❤️

It's Highlight Thursday — meet this week's featured volunteer! Dave Frye has supported WARM since its founding, serving in many roles but especially as a key support to our Executive Director, his wife. He has befriended families, fixed our computers, kept the WARM car on the road, barbequed lots of chicken, and done just about anything we ask him to do 🙌! Thank you, Dave!

🌎 What is your favorite part of volunteering with WARM? Meeting refugees from other countries and cultures, making friends, learning from them and having them teach me some of their native language.

🌎 Fun fact about you? I am a trumpet player and love music. 🎺🎶

🌎 Favorite comfort food? Potatoes, for sure! 🥔🥔

It's Highlight Thursday! Linda Tilleman is loved by all 🩷! She has been volunteering with WARM since 2016! Over these past 10 years, she has befriended families, tutored students (she's a math wiz!), taught English and driving, enrolled kids in school, set up apartments, fostered refugee minors, and more. Linda has been a valued member of our Core Team that helps plan WARM's programs and events. We truly appreciate you, Linda! 💐

🌎 Favorite part of volunteering with WARM? Meeting new families and making new friends. I also love tutoring the students in Homework Help. Once a teacher, always a teacher!
🌎 Fun fact about you? I have 8 children, 18 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren with 3 more on the way! 🥰

This is Patsy. Doesn't she have a lovely smile? 😃 She is one of our enthusiastic and joy-filled apartment set-up teammates. We have a lot of fun when we set up an apartment for newly arriving refugees! It's Highlight Thursday! And today we celebrate Cynthia Baker 🥰. Cynthia came to our first volunteer training in 2016 and, with her typical enthusiasm, quickly jumped into volunteering with WARM! Over the years, she has been adopted by her Syrian family, taught English and driving, tutored, run events, cleaned apartments, been on our Core Team, etc and recently oversaw our office renovation project. We are so grateful for you, Cynthia!! 🎈

🌎 Fun fact about you? I have been on 22 mission trips into 9 countries.
