Happening today! Drop by between 2 and 5 The Village Worcester to hang out & craft* (thumb twiddling counts) and talk about this busy week in this city we love!

Rev. Payson's Reflection yesterday was very aligned with our own mission of building and strengthening community to support community in the face of a power structure that is increasingly hostile. When we get together at The Village Worcester on Sunday afternoons, there's a lot of skill sharing and crafting happening, but we also get into some pretty lively conversations about Worcester and what's happening here. Thanks to y'all who came through yesterday to talk about the specialized code, weird stuff that yarn does, and how much more difficult it feels to get involved in volunteering in Worcester lately. Who knows what we'll talk about next week?

Two weeks in a row? We're on a roll! Come hang out at The Village Worcester to play with yarn and beads and sticks and string while we talk about STUFF (and there sure is a lot of it!) On the agenda - why is it so hard to host events in the city? And what's up with our WTF City Council flipping the reverse switch on the last 10 years? And what we can do to support our neighbors in this suddenly ❄️ city?

This Sunday, Worcester Knitty Council is back with something special. We've set up a team for the 6th annual Knit for Food Knit-a-thon. Anyone is welcome to join our team at https://givebutter.com/knitforfood26/worcester-knitty-council/debpowers2

BUT because we believe in acting local and community building (and we need to see some shiny faces!) we're hosting an in-person Knit-a-thon knit-in at The Village Worcester Sunday April 12, 2 to 5 pm. Everyone is welcome. In the spirit of mutual aid, we're asking folks to bring a non-perishable, shelf-stable food or toiletry item that will be dropped off at the Portland St WooFridge after the knit-in.

Hi, folks! We've created a team to fundraise for the 2026 Knit for Food Knit-a-thon, happening Saturday April 11 - though we're going to knit Sunday instead. The annual event was created by fabulous knitwear designer Laura Nelkin as a way to help people access food in the early days of the pandemic. 100% of donations are evenly divided among 4 anti-hunger organizations, each of which has Worcester connections. We'll be knitting virtually unless folks are interested in an in-person meetup. Stay tuned for more details!

Join us on April 11th, 2026 for the 6th annual Knit for Food Knit-a-thon. This 12-hour knitting marathon raises funds and awareness to combat hunger and food insecurity!
