Yesterday was nothing short of inspiring 💪

Over 130 students from across Massachusetts came together in Worcester for the second annual INSPIRE Massachusetts Youth Leadership Institute — and the energy, passion, and commitment to change was incredible.

Throughout the day, students participated in dynamic workshops, connected with local coalition leaders at the Action Fair, and took part in hands-on leadership training designed to empower them as changemakers in their own communities.

Each student left not just inspired — but equipped with a personalized action plan to address a real issue in their hometown and create meaningful impact where it matters most.

This is what youth leadership looks like. This is how change begins. 💫

February is Black History Month!

Celebrated every February, Black History Month honors the achievements, resilience, and lasting impact of Black Americans throughout history.

In 1915, historian Carter G. Woodson co-founded the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History to ensure Black stories were studied and recognized. In 1926, he launched Negro History Week, choosing February to honor the birthdays of Abraham Lincoln and Frederick Douglass. By 1976, during the Civil Rights Movement era, it expanded into Black History Month and was officially recognized by President Gerald Ford, who encouraged Americans to honor the overlooked contributions of Black Americans.

Black history lives beyond February. Today—and every day—we celebrate Black culture, innovation, leadership, and continue pushing for equity and justice.

Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of those who had been enslaved in the United States. It started in Galveston, Texas and is now celebrated on June 19th across the United States. It is a day of recognition, restoration, celebration and more! The day of Freedom.

Following Team Harmony’s INSPIRE Leadership Conference, held in January at , in partnership with the MTA, students from Marshfield High School’s Breaking Boundaries Club have been putting their action plan into motion.

Over the past few weeks, they’ve been visiting local elementary schools to read and lead engaging activities—and recently attended, and were honored at, the Raising Multicultural Kids “Students in Service” End-of-Year Ceremony at the Museum of Science! 📚
