empowers seniors to promote healthy independent living by uniting them to engage in recreational activities, basic health care services, and educational opportunities focused on their particular life stage. Activity is essential to the ongoing health and wellbeing of seniors, offering many physical and mental benefits. On the flip side, isolated and inactive seniors are at greater risk of physical
, mental, and social struggles. I watched this first hand as I support my aging father, who was actively working into retirement via his own consultancy firm when Glaucoma set in. Though he hardly needed support when he was active, after his diagnosis I had to support him through the new challenges he faced. Ever since, keeping my dad active and healthy has been my top priority. To accomplish this, I spent years researching best practices for eldercare to ensure I was optimizing his wellbeing while empowering him to care for himself in whatever ways he could. The more I learned and grew in my knowledge of care of the elderly, the more I was inspired to share my knowledge and expertise with others. Eventually, I earned the credentials to work by day as a Certified Nursing Assistant and direct support professional in the senior care industry. I also moved on to manage a program in a group home setting. As someone who is passionate about offering our cherished seniors a high quality of life, I founded Essential Adult Living Inc. to give this special population everything I would want and expect for my own father and more. As a native of Ghana, West Africa now returning to my home country after living in the United States, my vision is to help vulnerable seniors here and abroad by providing day rehabilitation services for the elderly in Ghana and wherever there is need. At Essential Adult Living Inc., we unite seniors for engaging recreational activities while offering basic health care services and educational opportunities focused on their particular life stage. Our aim is to lift up seniors at-risk of slipping through the cracks, bridging gaps in service by meeting their needs for attention, care, and connection. Today, I’m proud to say that my dad is 91 years old and thriving. Essential Adult Living, is here to help the seniors you love thrive too!
