Great Pyrenees Rescue Resources Utah Montana We are a 501c3 working to help support the rescued Great Pyrenees in Utah and Montana. Sometimes we have seniors 8 years or older and their fee is $100 or less.

WE HAVE EXCITING NEWS TO SHARE!

While some might recognize Kat since she is definitely not new to rescue, she is new to the GPRRUM team!
Kat and Bryan volunteer countless hours helping shelter and rescue animals get where they need to go! We can’t count the number of legs they’ve filled just for our Pyrs!
That incredible compassion and dedication is now going to help our dogs find their forever homes and we couldn’t be more excited to have her join the journey with us!

Maggie is still waiting for her forever 🐾

Our sweet Maggie is looking for her forever home, and while this transition will be incredibly hard for her, we’re determined to find the perfect fit.
Maggie is a 6-year-old girl who is:
🤍 Great with kids and cats
🤍 Prefers male dog friends! Maggie is selective with female dogs but does well with male dogs after slow introductions, so we’re looking for a home with only male dogs or where she can be your one and only. She is currently being fostered with 2 small female doggos, and she is a bit of the bossy fun police. ;)

🤍 On medication for incontinence
🤍 Struggles with separation anxiety and isn’t a fan of car rides
She would thrive in a quiet home with a retired individual or couple, or someone who is home most of the day. Maggie doesn’t need perfection—she just needs someone willing to love her through this transition.

🐾 PUPDATE: Whiskey has some big news! 🐾

Remember our sweet boy Whiskey? We asked for prayers about a week or so ago because he has been battling heart failure since coming to our rescue two years ago.

The Big News:
👉 Well those prayers are working because our pupdate that we got yesterday is that his cough has subsided with the meds and power of prayer so please keep them coming! He has a long uphill mountain to keep climbing and we won’t give up on him! Not for a second!

🤯You might be wondering, why are we celebrating a cough that’s gone away? For a heart failure patient, a persistent cough is a significant red flag often signaling pulmonary edema, where fluid backs up into the lungs due to the heart’s inability to pump efficiently. Consequently, a subsiding cough serves as a vital clinical marker of progress, suggesting reduced fluid accumulation, improved oxygenation, and greater physical comfort. It is essential to pause and celebrate this small win; recognizing these positive shifts provides a critical morale boost for both patients and caregivers navigating a chronic, complex condition, offering tangible evidence that current treatments are effective. While this relief is a welcome step forward, it remains equally important to communicate such improvements to a healthcare provider, ensuring that this change is accurately monitored within the broader clinical picture of the patient's comprehensive care plan, which is what we are actively doing and will continue to do for Whiskey and all our other pups under our care. We leave no stone unturned, no treatment untried.

Today, we are asking our amazing community to do something incredibly simple but life-changing. Instead of buying a cup of coffee or grabbing takeout lunch today, could you donate just $5 to our rescue pups?

UPDATE** Ellie’s family are going to give her more time to settle in! We’re always happy when families understand these dogs need patience and time to adjust!

Another day, another dog who needs to be moved ASAP....

This is Ellie. Some may remember we only just transported her 2 weeks ago to her new home. But her family says she's not a good fit and has asked us to take her back, and we always will.

We are looking for a foster or adopter who can give this girl the time and patience to settle in, and who knows they need to commit to her and to work with our behaviorist.

Ellie is 1 1/2, spayed and current on shots.

She is good with other dogs, might be a bit of a typical bossy female Pyr so more submissive dogs will do better with her.

Ellie adores people and is great with kids! She is great on leash and loves her walks!

She has been bounced around way too much, not her fault! She is currently in Boise, ID.

We are URGENTLY looking for a new foster or adopter for Roxy.
This young Akbash mix can't seem to catch a break. She was recently moved to what we thought was the perfect foster to adopt situation but family health issues have popped up making it necessary to move her ASAP!
What you need to know about this girl...

*Roxy is smart, loyal and very loving. She learns fast and enjoys learning new things.

*She is great with other animals, loves to play with the other dogs in her foster home. She has been around horses, goats, cats, chickens and ducks and done well with all of them. She is very curious but listens well.

*She loves kiddos and is gentle.

*Roxy is also very athletic and also a bit of an escape artist, she needs a secure 6ft fence, no exceptions.

*She is also not a huge fan of the car, this is a work in progress and she will need to continue to work with our behaviorist.

*She is just over a yr old, spayed and UTD on shots.

*Roxy is a wonderful protector. She loves her family and is slow to warm up to new people. She can be a bit intimidating with her bark! She needs to be properly introduced to new people coming into her home or property. Once she knows someone is ok, everything is just fine. She is a true guardian!

This sweet young girl is going to thrive in a patient and understanding home. She is currently in Kamas, UT.
