Come learn Mahjong with the NDCNJ! We are SO excited to partner with Penny Sullivan, owner of Rose City Mahjong, to offer a series of two 2-hour lessons to our members, families and friends. Penny has been playing Mahjong for close to 20 years and she has played a big part in teaching many local people as the Mahjong fever has spread throughout the Garden State. Now's your chance to learn from an expert!

Lesson Details:

What: Two 2-hour lessons. You can come to just one, but Penny highly recommends two to get you fully ready to play.

When: Thursday June 4 and Thursday June 11 - Arrive 6:30pm for light food and drinks, lessons begin promptly at 7:00pm and end at 9:00pm.

Where: Club leader's home in Watchung, NJ

Cost: $50 per person, per lesson + $15 for optional official 2026 Mahjong card if you don't already have it.

This is a great deal and a great opportunity to jump on the Mahjong bus! Everyone starts by saying they don't have time, but we promise, after one lesson you will be HOOKED and you will find the time!!

Reminder: Saturday, April 25th is Global Day of Service. There is still time to get involved either by participating or donating!

Our 2026 project will benefit both Elijah's Promise, an organization that harnesses the power of food to break the cycle of poverty, alleviate hunger and change lives, and Inspire Family Life Center, an organization that meets the urgent needs of thousands of at-risk and underserved women and families in New Jersey.

When: Saturday, April 25, 2026 10:30am - 12:30pm.

Where: Holy Trinity School (cafeteria) 336 First Street, Westfield, NJ 07090

Tasks: We'll be sorting non-perishable donations and assembling snack bags and utensil packets for Elijah's Promise and collecting baby gear and supplies for Inspire Life Center.

Participation is free. Middle and High School students, don't forget to bring your service hour forms to be signed by our leaders!

Today is Day 2 of Notre Dame Day 2026! NDCNJ, please make a donation TONIGHT during our BONUS WINDOW between 7-8pm ET when we'll directly compete with other clubs of our size for extra money for our scholarship fund. This competition rewards number of donors, not the amount given, so we need as many unique names/email addresses to donate as possible. $5 donations work! Set your alarms! Notre Dame Day 2026 is here!! Give to a great cause!

All donations made on the NDCNJ page go directly to our scholarship fund to give financial assistance to students in need from Central New Jersey.

For each person who donates to our club through our ND Day page today and tomorrow, we earn a share of the $250,000 Challenge Fund. Our club is also competing in the 1842 Challenge, so we can earn an additional $1,842 if we have more donors than other clubs of our size. These challenges are based on the number of donors and not the amount, so every donation counts regardless of size. Let's prove that Central NJ is the best club!

Our goal is to have at least 50 donors and raise $2,500 for our scholarship fund by the end of tomorrow. Please help us reach our goal of helping as many local students as possible!

Club leaders from the Notre Dame Club of Central New Jersey spent the past few days back on campus for the Alumni Association Leadership Conference. 🍀

It was an incredible opportunity to celebrate the continued success of NDCNJ, exchange ideas, and collaborate with fellow Notre Dame club leaders from around the world. We’re energized and inspired to bring even more to our local ND community!

A wonderful group of Central New Jersey women gathered on Wednesday evening for the NDWC Spring Shared Read at Maureen Matthias’ (‘93) home. We were delighted to welcome some new people to our group including two Young Alumni who brought a fresh and thought-provoking perspective to our conversation about The Correspondent, by Virginia Evans. We all enjoyed the book and liked how the author told the story through letters between the characters. We were not big fans of the main character, Sybil, however! Overall, it was a great read and a fun night with wonderful ND friends. Special thanks to Maureen for hosting us!
