We need your help and support!

WFCC wears many hats like all rescues do. But this past week we were faced with some difficult and saddening rescues. We were asked to help grab a feral cat that was the last of his colony and very sick as he was a senior and was showing signs of possible blot clot. We were able to secure him which was difficult as he was in a high wooded area but sadly he passed away quickly during rescue. The loving caretakers were all present and grateful he is no longer suffering. RIP GreyBoy❤️@

This next truly upsetting case is this beautiful girl below. We named her Sheep as she was found at Sheepfold reservation. There were lots of people involved in getting her help, many agencies and volunteers. She was found apparently dumped in parking lot area of the reservation sitting under a tree seemingly unable to move. Park rangers believed her to have been injured and needed help as she was clearly frightened. When I got there it broke our heart to see her unable to move but she gently let me pick her up with a cover and place her in carrier. Thanks to Dr Simonelli of VCA and staff who squeezed her in so we could find out what happened to her. She was found to be unspayed, not chipped and not visibly injured. She was blind and severely matted. She was shaved and did have huge tick but other than that we are monitoring her condition and waiting on blood work results. Thank you to all who helped her. Her recovery will be long as the trauma from being blind and left in strange unknown place for what? It is outrageous to be so cruel to a defenseless animal.

The medical costs for this rescue and others are putting us in a tough situation. We need our communities support to continue to help Sheep and others we find in dire straits. We will post some items to sell as some people feel better when they can purchase an item they like and donate to charity at same time. Stay tuned. If you want to donate here are a couple of ways .

A neighbor near prospect st area in Woburn is seeing these three cats roaming the neighborhood at all hours. We are sure there are others as this area is a problem area for unvetted cats owned or abandoned. If anyone knows if these cats are owned let us know. Videos are of two as there is also a white with orange Siamese looking cat as well.

We received information from concerned neighbors and later from cat owner that this poor young cat had been stuck high up in tree for 3 days. Owner was trying everything to get her down but she was up too high and needed a tree expert. Andrew was contacted by neighbors and owner and he came as soon as he could to rescue the crying cat. She must have been hoarse from crying so much. This morning she was finally rescued and is now home with her family. A single mom with small children. Owner can’t afford to cover fee for Andrew which is 250$. He travels far and it is not a job without dangers. A kind neighbor and her sister covered 150$ but we are asking for any donations to cover his total fee. WFCC has covered these rescues in past when able but currently our medical costs have us in the red. We have had many medical issues with current fosters and new intakes have added to the expense. If any of you can send Andrew even small amount to help make up what is left of his fee he would appreciate it. Andrew is always willing to come out and help when he is asked and we are all grateful this poor cat is safe because of him. Thank you and here is Andrew’s links.
