Thank you Tampa Bay 28 - WFTS and reporter Rebecca Petit for helping shine a light on an important issue impacting thousands of children across Polk County this summer.

When school is out, many young people lose access to the breakfasts and lunches they depend on each day. By sharing these stories, our community becomes more aware of the challenges families face and the collective role we can all play in ensuring every child has access to nutritious meals and a safe, supportive place to spend their summer.

We're grateful for the opportunity to share how Boys & Girls Clubs of Polk County is working alongside our community partners to help fill that gap and support local youth all summer long!

In Polk County, where one in five children faces food insecurity, a summer meal program is helping families bridge the gap.

We're incredibly proud to celebrate Kelsy for receiving a Certificate of Appreciation recognizing her outstanding work in 21st Century Community Learning Centers programming and her dedication to the young people and families she serves.

The reason she's always surrounded by kids is simple: they know they're valued, supported, and cared for when they're with her. Every day, Kelsy helps create a safe, welcoming environment where young people can learn, grow, and thrive.

This recognition is well deserved, and we're grateful for the passion, leadership, and heart she brings each and every day.

Congratulations to the participants who successfully completed our Workforce Readiness Program!

Over the course of the program, these young people invested in their future by developing workplace skills, gaining hands-on work experience, strengthening their leadership abilities, exploring postsecondary pathways through college tours, and participating in unique opportunities designed to prepare them for success beyond the classroom.

We are incredibly proud of their commitment, growth, and determination throughout this journey. Their accomplishments reflect not only their hard work, but also the impact that meaningful experiences, mentorship, and community support can have on a young person's future.

A special thank you to our community partners, employers, educational institutions, volunteers, and supporters who helped make these experiences possible. Your partnership provides our youth with valuable exposure, guidance, and opportunities that help them build confidence and prepare for future success. We'd also like to thank the Taco Bell Foundation for their support and commitment to investing in the next generation.

What was once an empty corner is now a cozy space for imagination, learning, and adventure, thanks to Garney! Their incredible team transformed the space into a welcoming environment where kids can explore new worlds, build confidence, and discover a lifelong love of reading.

A good book can take you anywhere—and now our members have the perfect place to start their next adventure. We can't wait to see this special space filled with stories, imagination, and smiling faces!
