Church in the Wild

Each Sunday, Corey is distilling Angeles Arrien's Wisdom on each of the four universal human architypes with a closing prayer for that type. Use this prayer whenever you step into leadership roles or positions of power. And remember to dance! Here is this week's Warrior’s Prayer: I stand firm in my power. Present fully to this moment. Great Spirit, keep me courageous and steadfast to The Way. Keep me wise and open to impossibility. Let me always be in my integrity in speech and action. Let there be no blood on the land. May my people be peace.

📣November Community Action📣 This month we are supporting our local ecosystems! There are so many great ways you can help the living things that share your space:
-Leave your leaves or make a leaf pile. 🍂
-Start a compost bin/pile or use community composting. 🍌
-Save non-compostable food scraps for the Crows & other birds. 🍞
-Turn off outdoor lights. Darkness is a habitat! 🦇
What other things do you do this time of year to care for your corner of Creation? 💚🌍

🫛New on Pod in the Wild🫛 The Way of the Warrior 🤺 This month we're reading The Four Fold Way by Dr. Angeles Arrien, exploring the 4 universal human archetypes. As we considered how we show up as leaders in our lives we sat with Dr. Arrien's questions, "Where in my life have I stopped dancing?" On this election day we proclaim the Native Wisdom that the ultimate demonstration of courage is the call for peace. ☮ Take a listen to this week's episode linked in the comments and let us know your thoughts!

“The challenge of every Warrior and leader is the right use of power. Native peoples of the American continents use the words power and medicine synonymously. If we fully express who we are, we are said to be “full of power” and “expressing our medicine.” A true Warrior/Leader is identified as someone who knows how to extend honor and respect; set limits and boundaries; align words with actions; and extend responsibility into structure and function in an empowering way.” -Angeles Arrien

What a joyful last outdoor worship for the year! 🔥 We learned the Way of the Warrior and prayed for true leaders to rise. We sang and roasted marshmallows. We fished and meditated around the fire. We remembered our ancestors and shared a seasonal communion, giving thanks for all the beings who've given their lives so we could be here. We are SO lucky to be able to worship outdoors on November 1st! We'll be meeting in the cozy Riley Lodge for the rest of the year.
