The FSB Initiative Ohio Team is proud to announce to be participating in the Lawrence County Veterans Stand Down!

This is what our mission is all about — showing up, standing beside our veterans, and making sure those who served our country know they are not forgotten.

Our team is here doing what we do best: connecting with veterans, providing support and essential items, sharing resources, and helping veterans facing homelessness or housing insecurity take another step toward stability.

We don't just talk about helping veterans.

We show up. We get involved. We serve.

Every veteran deserves dignity, respect, support, and the knowledge that someone is willing to stand beside them when they need it most.

We are honored to join other organizations, agencies, volunteers, and community members who share that commitment at the Lawrence County Veterans Stand Down.

You never know when an ordinary day is going to turn into a pretty incredible full-circle moment.

Today, outside Representative Mike Kelly's office in Hermitage, PA, I ran into someone I hadn’t seen in quite a while — but someone I’ll always remember as “Coach Kelly.”

Almost 30 years ago, Mike Kelly was my midget league football coach. Standing there today, we had the chance to reminisce about those days, talk about how much the world has changed since then, and catch up on where life has taken us.

I also got the opportunity to tell him about the work we’re doing with the FSB Initiative Ohio Team — getting into our communities, finding homeless and unsheltered veterans, and helping connect them with the resources and support they need to get back on their feet. It was especially meaningful to share that our Ohio team is now doing that work right here in the district he represents.

We also talked about the work Representative Kelly continues to do for the people and communities of his district. It’s great to see someone who invested in his community decades ago, when he was coaching kids like us, still committed to serving that same community today.

Life has a funny way of bringing things full circle. Nearly 30 years after Coach Kelly was teaching us lessons on the football field, we were standing outside his office talking about serving our communities and helping veterans.

Great seeing you again, Coach. 🇺🇸 Some memories stick with you for a lifetime.

What a successful weekend for the FSB Initiative Ohio Team!

On Saturday, September 19th, our team was in East Cleveland for outreach, and it was an incredibly busy and rewarding day.

We were able to assist 10 veterans and 3 civilians, with all 10 veterans fully dressed out with needed clothing and supplies.

We didn’t get many photos......and that’s okay. Sometimes the best outreaches are the ones where everyone is simply too busy helping people to stop and take pictures.

Later that afternoon, we visited the Allegheny Valley Veterans Center for Vest Fest, their fundraiser. (Check them out on here and show your support.) One of the best parts of the day was getting to see and spend time with a couple of veterans we previously assisted who are now housed there.

Those are the moments that remind us exactly why we do what we do.

Seeing someone you once met while they were struggling now moving forward with a roof over their head and greater stability makes every mile, every donation, and every hour of outreach worth it.

Off the Streets and onto their Feet.
It was a very successful weekend, and we are incredibly grateful to everyone who continues to support the FSB Initiative Ohio Team and makes this work possible.
