LOCAL BUSINESSES: NOW IS THE TIME TO HAVE A VOICE IN NEWTON FALLS.

The Newton Falls Area Commerce Association is growing, with more than 70 businesses now working together to strengthen our local business community.

And we’re just getting started.

The more businesses that join, the stronger our collective voice becomes when we sit down with city leaders, community organizations, schools and others to advocate for changes that can actually benefit the businesses that keep Newton Falls moving.

Here are just some of the things we are currently working on:

• Working with the City Manager to explore ways to address the high electric demand fees affecting small businesses, including possible reductions or rebate programs.

• Working with the Newton Falls School Superintendent to build a stronger connection between our schools and local businesses.

• Working to bring more people into Newton Falls through events including Spring Peddler, Autumn in the Falls, the Tree Lighting Ceremony, Community Garage Sale, Dicker Days, Late Night in the Falls and more.

• Supporting efforts to clean up and improve the Falls, our community’s namesake, so it can once again become an attraction and destination for visitors, photographs and tourism.

• Working toward clearly marked public parking throughout downtown to make visiting our businesses easier.

• Pursuing beautification opportunities and funding to make Newton Falls more attractive and inviting.

• Providing digital maps featuring businesses throughout Newton Falls, helping residents and visitors discover more of what our community has to offer.

• Working to strengthen the relationship between Camp James A. Garfield and Newton Falls businesses, including hopes of welcoming base leadership to a Commerce meeting and developing ways to introduce service members to the businesses, restaurants and services available right here in town.

• Exploring a military discount program involving participating local businesses.

There is a tremendous amount happening behind the scenes, and there is an energy surrounding the Newton Falls Area Commerce Association that this community has not seen in a long time.

But the Association is only as strong as the businesses standing behind it.

If you own or operate a local business and want a voice, representation and a seat at the table when decisions affecting our business community are being discussed, this is your opportunity to get involved.

Whether you’ve been in business for 30 years or opened your doors last month, we want you at the table.

70+ businesses strong and growing.

Let’s build something together that benefits not just one business, but the entire Newton Falls business community.

Why pay hundreds of dollars a year for a Chamber membership just to access business benefits?

If you own a business outside Newton Falls, you can join the Newton Falls Area Commerce Association for just $85 per year.

For comparison, some surrounding Chamber memberships for small businesses run $200, $300, even $450 annually.

That means NFACA may give you access to valuable member benefit programs, including health insurance options, at a fraction of the membership cost charged by many larger Chambers.

You do not have to be located in Newton Falls to join.

If insurance benefits are the main reason you’ve been considering Chamber membership, it may be time to compare the numbers.

SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS: ONE OF THE BEST BENEFITS OF JOINING THE NEWTON FALLS AREA COMMERCE ASSOCIATION MAY BE HEALTH INSURANCE SAVINGS.

Did you know you do not have to own a business located in Newton Falls to become a member of the Newton Falls Area Commerce Association?

One of the biggest benefits of membership is access to health insurance opportunities available through our affiliation with NOACC and Anthem. For many small businesses and sole proprietors, joining a participating chamber can provide access to group health insurance options and potential cost savings that may otherwise be difficult for a smaller company to obtain.

There are currently two Anthem programs available to qualifying chamber members:

Anthem SOCA MEWA Plan
Designed for businesses with 50 or fewer employees, including sole proprietors. The plan allows smaller employers to join together and share overall claims risk, with Anthem stop-loss coverage.

Chamber Saver Program
A traditional ACA health plan offering a range of health insurance options and access to Anthem’s provider network. Groups with 51–500 employees may be eligible for a 1% premium savings.

To participate in either program, your business must be a member of a qualifying NOACC Chamber, and the Newton Falls Area Commerce Association is proud to offer that opportunity to our members.

For some businesses, the potential savings on health insurance alone can make chamber membership extremely worthwhile.

If you’ve been considering joining the Newton Falls Area Commerce Association, this is just one of the many benefits available to our members.

Interested in learning more about membership or the health insurance programs? Send us a message. We would be happy to help point you in the right direction.

Support business. Build connections. Take advantage of the benefits of membership. Join the Newton Falls Area Commerce Association.
