Teamsters Joint Council 25 marched alongside Amazon Teamsters at the Chicago Federation of Labor’s annual Labor Day parade. Unions and worker advocates from across the labor movement took part in the parade on the Southeast Side of Chicago.

Teamsters advocated passage of the Chicago Delivery Protection Act. Teamsters distributed informational leaflets and signs to parade participants and the community.

The city ordinance would ban subcontracting schemes, used by Amazon and other delivery companies, to undermine worker demands for better conditions, engage in illegal union busting, and undermine public safety. The Chicago Delivery Protection Act was introduced this summer and a hearing is set for September 15th.

‼TEAMSTERS LOCAL 525 SENDS A CLEAR MESSAGE TO THE CITY OF ALTON - IF NEGOTIATIONS REMAIN STALLED, WE WILL STRIKE‼

Alton Public Works employees represented by Teamsters Local 525 rallied outside of City Hall on Wednesday during the City Council Meeting to demand a fair contract. Members have been working without a contract since March 31.

Members sent a firm, clear message to the City...without progression forward, Teamster members will strike.
