Guide Dogs of the Desert provides custom trained
Guide Dogs for the blind and visually impaired, for mobility, independence and companionship

Guide Dogs of the Desert provides custom trained guide dogs for the blind, and for those with special needs, for mobility, companionship, and independence. Guide Dogs of the Desert was founded over 45 years ago on the premise that every legally blind person should have the opportunity to have a guide dog, including those with multiple disabilities, balance issues, prothesis, some deafness and PTSD. Because of this commitment to our special clients, our class sizes are small and focus on the individual needs of our clients. Many of our clients are those that have progressive diseases, such as macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, cataracts, glaucoma, and then there are those that have lost their sight at birth or through a life altering accident. We do all of this at NO COST to the clients we serve. Guide Dogs of the Desert is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation. Federal Tax ID 23-7296531

We need Puppy Raisers! Could one of these little faces be coming home with you? Learn more about becoming a Puppy Raiser with Guide Dogs of the Desert.

Double the focus, double the purpose. 🐾💙

Every outing is an opportunity for our dogs to experience the sights, sounds, and distractions of everyday life. From stores and restaurants to busy public spaces, these experiences are an important part of preparing for the work ahead.

Looking good is clearly part of the job description around here. 😉

This is where the journey begins. 🐶✨

Long before our puppies become guide dogs, they’re learning about the world around them. New people, new environments, new sounds and new experiences all help build the confidence they’ll need for the important work ahead.
Our Puppy Raisers help create that foundation, giving our puppies the love, socialization and everyday experiences that prepare them for formal guide dog training. 💙
And right now, we need more Puppy Raisers to join our mission!
Ready for puppy cuddles with a purpose? 🐾 Become a Puppy Raiser with Guide Dogs of the Desert.

Look at this crew! 🥹🐶🐾

Every puppy you see here is at the beginning of a journey that takes a whole community to make possible.

One of the most important stops along that journey? A Puppy Raiser’s home.🏡💙
Our Puppy Raisers help introduce future guide dogs to everyday life, build their confidence, reinforce foundational skills, and give them plenty of love as they grow.
And with this many little paws preparing for their next chapter, we need Puppy Raisers!

✨ Open your home.
🐾 Be part of their journey.
💙 Help us change lives, one puppy at a time.
