Westport River Gardeners

Westport River Gardeners WRG is a club for learning, sharing and community service. No gardening experience is necessary, and all are welcome to join.

Yearly membership is $35 & guests are welcome to attend individual presentations for $5. The purpose of the club is to meet people, have fun, and raise funds to support town projects. Past projects include cleaning and providing new plantings in the round garden at the library, decorating the library for Christmas, and maintaining several other planters around Westport. Recent enhancement projects

are the stone wall on Hix Bridge Road between Route 88 and Main Road with the large stone etched with “Westport”, the rockery and related plantings in front of The Town Hall, and the numerous bulb plantings near the new fire station, library, and surrounding areas. Meetings

A big thank you to all the members (some pictured below) who gathered on Saturday to help create patrotic decorations for our club's 4th of July parade float. 🇺🇸

Members also assembled over 100 seed packets that we'll be handing out to spectators as we walk the parade route, as well as stickers and temporary tattoos to share with the younger attendees.

Please watch for us in the 4th of July parade as we celebrate Westport's 250th Anniversary! 🎉

This morning members of The Westport River Gardeners gathered at 'The Rockery' our planting on Hix Bridge Rd.in front of the police station.
We had a good turnout and everyone worked hard pruning , raking, cutting back etc.

The Westport River Gardeners will meet Saturday February 7th at 9:15 at The Westport Library . Our program will be on Seed Starting ( indoors and the Winter sowing method). It will be presented by member Stephanie Ferreira of the YouTube gardening channel 'Hooked &Rooted'. There will also be a member seed share/swap.
New members always welcome, no experience necessary $35.00 to join. Or $5.00 to attend the presentation. Come learn along with us!
