Behind the scenes at DI.

The staff gathered this week for our all-staff retreat. Two days of strategy, planning, and an Instant Challenge that had everyone thinking on their feet.

Turns out the team that teaches creative problem-solving is pretty good at it.

Always wanted to try your hand at filmmaking? Now's your chance! 🎬

In Destination Imagination's (DI) Team Film Challenge, students collaborate over the course of 8 weeks to turn an original idea into a finished short film. Throughout the process, they build skills in storytelling, creativity, communication, problem-solving, and teamwork through the DI Creative Process.

Films can be recorded using everyday recording devices like phones, tablets, and cameras to bring their ideas to life. No special equipment is required.

🎥 Starts September 2026

Exciting news! 🎉

FIRST (the world's largest youth robotics community) and Destination Imagination are joining forces to expand STEAM learning for students everywhere.

Kids learn best when they can build, make, and explore. This alliance brings together robotics and creative problem-solving so more young people can develop the skills they'll use for life: teamwork, resilience, innovation, and creative confidence.

âś… 96% of parents and teachers say creativity is essential for learning and future readiness.
❌ The same people described systems that work against it.

Teachers talked about fear of failure and packed curricula. Professionals described workplaces that don't encourage new ideas. Families juggle overscheduled weeks with no room for open play.

But here's the thing: people want to experiment, collaborate, and try new approaches. They just need the space to do it.

Creativity thrives with the right conditions. Supportive relationships. Room to take risks. Time to explore.

The research is clear. Now the question is whether we're willing to build those conditions.

When we asked 760 teachers, parents, professionals, and lifelong learners how creativity actually shows up in their lives, the gap between belief and reality became impossible to ignore.
