Destination Imagination is a global nonprofit that empowers students to build creativity, confidence, and real-world skills through hands-on, team-based STEAM Challenges. Annually, we develop open-ended STEAM-based Challenges designed to foster students' creativity and help them gain the 21st century skills needed to succeed in school, careers and beyond. Each year, more than 100,000 students across the U.S. and in 20 countries participate in the Destination Imagination Challenge Experience.

For others, it's a team, a mentor, a creative outlet, a lifelong memory, or the moment they realized what they were capable of.

At Global Finals 2026, we asked students, parents, Team Managers, and volunteers what Destination Imagination means to them. Their answers remind us that while the solutions, presentations, and tournaments matter, the growth, confidence, creativity, and connections stay with us long after the season ends.

Months of brainstorming, researching, designing, building, writing, revising, and rehearsing all led to this. 🌍

This week at Global Finals 2026, we watched students from around the world take the stage to share engineering builds, scientific solutions, technical designs, original stories, improvisational storytelling, fine arts performances, and service-learning projects they created together throughout the Destination Imagination Challenge Experience.

While we were blown away by the creativity on display, what stood out most was the confidence, teamwork, persistence, and pride behind every presentation. Throughout the week, we watched teams solve problems in real time, encourage one another under pressure, and keep moving forward even when things didn’t go according to plan.

That’s the purpose of the Destination Imagination Challenge Experience. And in many ways, that’s the real prize.

Thank you to all of our Global Finals teams for sharing your creativity and hard work with our global community this week, and to every Challenge Experience team this season that dedicated months of time, energy, and heart to creating something uniquely your own. We hope you all celebrate everything you accomplished together this season!
