SilvoCulture is about reimagining what our landscapes can be—and who they can serve.

We work at the intersection of ecology, economy, and community to bring nut trees and food systems to life.

🌳 Our mission: help plant 1 million nut trees across the Mid-Atlantic region🌳

This is about more than just planting trees—we’re creating living assets. Nut trees like chestnut, walnut, and hazelnut can provide consistent yields, diversify farm income, and build real, lasting value over time—while restoring soil, supporting wildlife, and improving water quality across our region.

And you don’t have to figure it out alone.

We help connect you to:
• Planting programs
• Funding opportunities
• Education so you can steward your land with confidence
• Resources like trees, design, and technical guidance
• A community rooted in regeneration
•And more!

The 5th Annual Chestnut Roast: Growers Gathering Re-cap 🌰

On November 22, more than 100 people gathered at Pinecliff Park in Frederick, MD — new and curious tree-crop growers alongside seasoned veterans — to share food, knowledge, stories, and a shared love for perennial agriculture.

The afternoon was filled with a community potluck of favorite homemade dishes, conversation, and the exchange of growing and harvesting wisdom. Everyone left with six high-quality, genetically selected seedlings — all over 5 feet tall and ready to root into this region’s future.

Huge gratitude to FirstEnergy for funding the trees that made this giveaway and gathering possible, and to .farm for providing exceptional, high-quality genetics.

It was a truly special gathering, rooted in generosity, learning, and long-term stewardship — the kind of event that reminds us how powerful it is to come together around a shared vision.

This is how food forests — and friendships — grow. 🌳
