A new chapter for Ellen Minzner. 💙🇺🇸

After more than a decade leading the U.S. Para National Team, Ellen Minzner has been named Director of Rowing at Merrimack College.

Ellen’s dedication to Para rowing built the U.S. program into an internationally competitive team, culminating in the PR3 mixed coxed four winning gold at the 2026 World Rowing Championships and ending Great Britain’s 15-year winning streak in the event.

Her impact, beyond multiple World Championship and Paralympic medals, has been recognized both on and off the water. In 2023, Ellen was named USOPC Paralympic Coach of the Year. In 2021, the Head of the Charles Regatta named its LTA four with coxswain trophy the Ellen Minzner Trophy in recognition of her work expanding opportunities for Para athletes.

Thank you, Ellen, for more than a decade of leadership, dedication and commitment to growing Para rowing in the United States and making the sport more accessible to athletes of all abilities.

We wish Ellen all the best in this next chapter at Merrimack College! ❤️🤍💙

The U.S. men’s eight battled on home waters in the Men’s Eight A Final, staying in the hunt through the first half of the race as the Americans and the Netherlands raced nearly even.

The Americans crossed in fifth in 5:22.32.

🇺🇸 4th for M1x, Sam Melvin!

Melvin charged through the back half of the Men’s Single Sculls A Final, moving from sixth at 500 meters to fourth and nearly stealing a spot on the podium.

After passing France and Uruguay, Melvin battled Norway bow ball to bow ball through the final strokes. The race came down to a photo finish, with Norway taking bronze by just 0.11 seconds.

Melvin’s fourth-place finish is the best U.S. result in the men’s single sculls at the World Championships in 29 years.

And the last time an American reached the A Final? 1997, the year Melvin was born.

🥉 BRONZE FOR THE MIXED 8+!

The U.S. came out flying, sitting just a seat behind Romania early before taking control of the race. The Americans held the lead alongside Romania through 750 meters, separated from the rest of the field by open water.

Romania surged in the third 500, but the U.S. fought to the finish, with the medals ultimately decided by a photo finish for silver. The Netherlands edged the Americans by just 0.19 seconds.

A hard-fought bronze to close out the World Championships in Amsterdam. 🇺🇸

🥉 BRONZE FOR THE MIXED 2X!

After setting a world-best time in the semifinals this morning, Cedar Cunningham and Olympian Sophia Vitas came back fighting for the podium and delivered.

Cunningham & Vitas finished third in 6:22.75, just 0.41 seconds behind second place.

Vitas earns her second bronze medal of the week, while Cunningham captures his first World Championship medal.

What a way to finish. 🇺🇸
