Utah Gay Rodeo Association

Utah Gay Rodeo Association UGRA is a nonprofit organization that supports rodeo and country lifestyle while raising money for the community and various causes.

Golden Spike Gay Rodeo Association (GSGRA) was founded in 1979 and operated as a group of local country western g**s helping out the community. They were admitted to IGRA 10 years later in 1989 as the Utah Gay Rodeo Association (UGRA, by this time Golden State Gay Rodeo Association in California, owned the acronym GSGRA) however, they didn’t produce a rodeo until 2000. The association dissolved in

2006. On January 4, 2016 the Utah Gay Rodeo Association (UGRA) was brought back to life, UGRA plans to be admitted to IGRA by Summer 2016.

At our next general meeting on May 17th, we will be voting on a change to our by-laws. This will be to remove Article VIII, section 5 A. See statement A. below to be removed:

ARTICLE VIII – DUTIES OF OFFICERS AND STANDING COMMITTEE
CHAIRPERSONS

5. IGRA Trustee
"A. Shall not serve as any other officer of UGRA or IGRA during their term."

This change is to allow our current President to continue to serve as Trustee as well.

Our current By-laws can be found on our website under Library, for reference.

UGRA tonight!! At the watch party for RuPaul's Drag Race, seeing our own cowboys part of the international gay rodeo on the national stage, was an event none of us will forget! Fun and bittersweet, we got to honor Terry, as this is part of his legacy taking part of this historic event for IGRA.

We also got to meet the one and only Kylie Sonique Love! Her and all the drag queens were lovely and fierce tonight. 🫶

Much gratitude to , and for being fantastic hosts and working with us on the fly! And much thanks to everyone at .slc for letting us jump in and make this a fantastic night!

There's some excitement this week! If y'all love drag and cowboys, this is not an episode you're going to want to miss!

So join us at Milk+ this Friday, March 20th and watch as some of our own Gay Rodeo members are on RuPaul's Drag Race!!

We'll have some UGRA Royalty and members ready to talk queens, rodeo, and rodeo queens during the viewing party. You can also have the opportunity to win some fun prizes! Any money we raise goes towards our rodeo and the other organizations we support as part of gay rodeo!

The gay rodeo is coming to Utah in June! Get yourselves ready to vogue and do-is-do with us. Whether you're a competitor, performer, supporter, vendor, spectator, or just curious and want to know more about us, there's something for you!

Thursday we will be having a kickoff party with dancing, food, drinks, live music, and lots of fun to be had.

Also for the first year, we will be having rodeo school! Friday before the rodeo, sign up to learn an event you can compete in that very weekend!!

The Saturday and Sunday we rodeo y'all!

UGRA sends their deepest condolences to the family and friends of Terry Covington. He was a valued member of GPRA and IGRA, and a passionate part of the rodeo family. Our hearts break over the loss of this wonderful human.

This is a hard time of year for many. Remember, if you're struggling, there's people out there that care and want to help. Reach out to your people, or 988. You're loved and you matter.
