On Saturday, we had the pleasure of joining some of the wonderful dogs from the Siloam Springs Animal Services at Tractor Supply Co. for an adoption event!

While none of our furry friends found their forever homes this weekend, they still had an amazing day meeting new people, soaking up attention, enjoying plenty of treats, and taking well-earned naps in the shade!

These dogs were fantastic ambassadors for shelter pets, showing off just how friendly, well-behaved, and ready for family life they are. We know their perfect matches are out there, and we hope they'll be found soon!

If you're interested in adopting, please contact the Siloam Springs Animal Shelter at (479) 524-6535 or stop by and meet the dogs in person at:

Welcome to the maternity ward at Wilber’s Rescue Foundation, where the tiniest residents have a very important full-time job: growing up healthy, strong, and confident!

Right now, these little ones spend their days enjoying 4–5 cans of wet food mixed with water and formula to keep them hydrated and help them pack on those healthy kitten pounds. In between meals, they’re busy playing with each other, socializing with mom, and learning all the important kitten life skills, like how to use the litter box like pros.

At Wilber’s, we keep all kittens until at least 12 weeks old. That means they leave our care fully vetted with two rounds of FVRCP vaccinations, a rabies vaccine, and spay/neuter completed before heading off to their forever homes. We know it’s tempting to send babies home sooner, but we believe those extra weeks make a world of difference for their health, behavior, and long-term success.

These little beans still have about 2–3 weeks left in the maternity ward before they’ll graduate to exploring the rest of the house, and about 4–6 weeks before they’ll be ready to head to their forever families.

At Wilber’s, we believe in slow rescue. Rehabilitation, proper socialization, and giving animals the time they need creates high-quality rescue. Every kitten deserves more than just a quick stop on the way to adoption. They deserve the best possible start.

If you’d like to help support our maternity ward babies and their very impressive wet food appetites, donations to their wet food fund are always appreciated!!

As always, thank you to our community for your support!!

General call out. Requests for bottle bottle babies are pouring in daily. We cannot adopt our way out of this crisis. If you are finding bottle babies and keeping them and not spaying and neutering before adoption- you are unknowingly continuing the crisis.
If you have not neutered cats you are also contributing to the crisis.

Bottle feeders are not standing by. Especially as the season wears on and it’s just May. If your mamma is inexperienced and she runs out the door or disappears the babies likely die. They often get run over looking for food. Some are just not ready or able to nurse. Even if you’ve got them all indoors with a mamma at least one normally dies even still.

Babies at 1-2 weeks need to be fed every two hours. It goes up from there but it’s as if you just birthed a human baby. How many people have time to do this? Bottle feeding is not a paid job.

Everyone has to do their part to spay or neuter to get us out of this crisis. They are cute for a while until they get sick, die in front of your children and suffer.

Many try to do it themselves without any experience and end up aspirating the babies. That is a painful painful death. The volume coming in is unsustainable. This is grim reality. And we’ve not seen anything yet.

We understand that costs are high to spay neuter and sometimes these cats are feral. There are programs available all over NWA you just have to find them. Reach out we will help and start to post all the low cost spay neuter clinics.

We CANNOT adopt our way out of this. Again, if you have kittens and rehome them without spay neuter- at least 50% of those kittens if not more WILL breed. They can breed at 4 months. The numbers are astronomical. One mamma can breed four times a year 4-6 kittens.

15 years ago I birthed and brought home the reason I started volunteering at the animal shelter 🥹 him and Wilber would grow up together in rescue, and still to this day he helps me with all the animals I bring home and my fundraising events. He’s just the best kid with the biggest heart for animals and this organization would not exist if he didn’t.

Kitten season is in full swing and we are spaying all the cats we can get our hands on, however we have also committed to around 27 kittens this season alone!! While kittens are a lot of work we have to give the biggest shout out to the real Heroes of this season, all 4 of these semi feral mommas who have not only nursed and raised their own babies but have taken in several surrogate babies in need of a mother as well 🥹 without these gals our nights would have been longer and a lot of these babies wouldn’t have survived.

Our current biggest need is wet cat and kitten food! If you are able to donate monetarily you can do so at:

$Cashapp: WilbersRescue
Venmo: @ WilbersRescueFoundation (make sure it’s our Venmo as we have already had an account impersonating us!)
