According to a report by the Greater Boston Food Bank and Mass General Brigham food insecurity in Massachusetts reached a record high last year, leading to worse health outcomes as households simultaneously grappled with housing and utility costs. Some 40% of Massachusetts households, or 1.12 million people, experienced food insecurity at some point over the past 12 months. That compares to 37% in 2024 and 19% in 2024. About 700,000 households in 2025 experienced "very low food security," which happens when a person must skip meals or not eat all day because they cannot afford food.

Join our Team for the Walk For Hunger on Sunday. The Walk for Hunger is one of our largest fundraisers of the year. Again, we will walk in West Roxbury to show our neighbors that we care. Please join our team or donate by clicking https://give.projectbread.org/team/808562

We have Commonwealth Team Status, which means Rose's Bounty receives 60% of what we raise, and 40% goes to hunger initiatives around the Commonwealth. We will gather at Rose’s Bounty and start walking at 11:00 AM. It is about a 2 mile walk, with stops along the way at local businesses. Walkers will be given a map to follow, and they will obtain stickers at the participating businesses.
