✨Alumni Spotlight: Meet Tastery Reed '13.
From public service to personal empowerment, Tastery Reed continues to make a meaningful impact through leadership, mentorship, and advocacy.
In 2013, Tastery was featured in the University of New Haven Oral History Project, sharing his journey and experiences as a member of the Charger community. Today, he is expanding that impact through his upcoming first book, Still Standing: Real Stories of Pain, Growth, and Purpose.
The memoir shares powerful stories of overcoming adversity, growing through life’s challenges, and discovering purpose. Through his work as a life coach, Tastery hopes to inspire and motivate others to achieve both personal and professional success.
His recent accomplishments include:
✔ First Black male investigator hired under Mayor Michelle Wu’s administration to investigate police misconduct for the City of Boston (2022)
✔City of Boston Civic Hero Award recipient (2023)
✔ Inspirational Life Coach of the Year Award recipient by Mr. GBoss (2025)
