UIS welcomes our new international students. Seniors, help them find their way!
Remember that in the US Culture, deadlines are hard and fast. If you miss the deadline, your request is dead on the line. Add-drop deadline is January 24. All F-1 students must be registered for a full-time courseload and must actively attend classes in person. Grad students must register for at least 9 credits of which 6 credits must be on-ground. Undergrads must register for at least 12 credits of which at least 9 credits must be on-ground. Students in their last semester with fewer credits remaining may request authorization to be less than FT.
It is the least favorite part of my job, but I am legally bound to terminate SEVIS records of any students who are not enrolled FT by the add-drop deadline and don't have an approved authorization. Be diligent please and avoid "falling dead on the line".
