In the early morning hours of April 4th, 2026, Engine 7 and Medic 7 responded to a mutual aid call for a structure fire in Warrenville.
Upon arrival, crews faced heavy smoke and active fire conditions. Thanks to the rapid, coordinated efforts of our firefighters and Warrenville personnel, an aggressive interior search was launched under low visibility conditions. During the search, crews located an unconscious victim trapped inside a bedroom.
Faced with heavy smoke and dangerous low-hanging wires, our members—alongside Warrenville firefighters—worked together to navigate the hazards, clear a path, and successfully evacuate the victim from the home.
The patient was immediately treated on-scene by paramedics and transported to CDH with a combined medical crew to ensure continuous, high-level life support in transit.
Excellent teamwork by all agencies involved to give this victim the best possible chance. Please keep the victim and their family in your thoughts.
Update: The victim was discharged from the hospital as he continues his recovery.
Central DuPage Hospital recently presented our firefighters and paramedics with the “Call of the Month” award. We commend FF/PM Aguayo, PM Quasney, FF/PM Fogarty, Lt. Link, and PM Williams (not pictured) for the exceptional hard work and courage they displayed during the incident.
