We are currently operating from charter locations until we can secure a permanent location for use.

Our mission is to nourish and empower the underserved members of our community by providing high-quality holiday meals and equipping youth transitioning out of foster care with the essential culinary skills needed for independent living. Building Our Village Together Nonprofit Organization provides social support, community service & educational field trips, career, cooking, and cleaning classes to young ladies ages 12-25. We also provide services to our community such as nursing home and jail visits, feeding the homeless, community events, Parenting, Domestic Violence and Anger Management classes.

Keep an eye on your inboxes! We were recently notified by Goodstack/Hootsuite that an individual named Adelle Anderson (using the email address ⁠[email protected]⁠) attempted to fraudulently claim they work or volunteer for Building Our Village Together Nonprofit Organization to access nonprofit software discounts and benefits.

Scammers are actively using legitimate nonprofit names, EINs, and reputations to fraudulently unlock nonprofit tech grants, software licenses, and corporate perks.

To fellow nonprofits:
Check your verification emails closely before approving any requests.
Never click "Yes" or verify someone you do not know or cannot independently confirm on your staff/volunteer roster.

Ensure your administrative contact emails are secure and monitored.

To anyone attempting to exploit our name:
Do not involve us in your scams. Falsely representing an organization and committing fraud using our identity is illegal. We document every fraudulent attempt, report it directly to platforms, and will not hesitate to pursue legal action and file criminal charges with law enforcement.

No family should have to worry about putting a meal on the table this Thanksgiving.

It really does take a village, and right now, our neighbors need us. From October 8th through November 22nd, Building Our Village Together is collecting contributions to make sure local families have a warm, dignified holiday meal.

To keep everything safe, we are accepting monetary gifts and grocery store gift cards only (no physical food items). Even a $10 gift card or a small Zelle transfer directly covers a holiday staple for someone in our community.

How to give today:

It is profoundly frustrating to see critical resources diverted away from the people who need them most. Every day, grassroots groups and volunteers dip into their own pockets just to ensure our unhoused neighbors have a meal, often facing the difficult choice to scale back vital services due to a lack of funding. Millions of dollars should translate into real relief, stability, and care not exploitation. We remain committed to transparent, direct-impact service, but our communities deserve far better stewardship of the resources meant to support them.

Braiding academy goal: expand opportunities

LANCASTER — A local nonprofit dedicated to empowering young people through braiding education, entrepreneurship and mentorship is inviting the community to support its mission during an upcoming Chick-fil-A Spirit Night fundraiser on Thursday.
Founded by Antelope Valley entrepreneur and beauty industry professional Pashyon Jackson, Boss Kids Braiding Academy serves youth ages 7 to 17 by teaching braiding techniques while also helping students develop leadership skills, confidence and entrepreneurial mindsets. Proceeds from the fundraiser will help provide scholarships for the academy’s summer camp and educational programs, ensuring more local children have access to enrichment opportunities regardless of financial circumstances.
