Some before-and-after photos from Shirley’s home in Irvington, NJ.

After Shirley called and left us a message, local volunteer Mike graciously stepped in on his own time to help provide some relief. As a kind volunteer, he cleaned up the yard and made it look nice for them, completely free of charge.

Quiya, a homeowner in Austin, Texas, reached out to us for help after struggling to keep up with her lawn due to severe anemia caused by low iron. She is currently unemployed and unable to afford lawn service. After trying to mow the lawn herself, she passed out, and she now has a doctor’s note advising her to avoid strenuous activity.

Through our nonprofit platform, we were able to connect Quiya with Amy, a recently retired landscaping volunteer in the Austin area who wants to help people in need. Amy comes equipped with a gas mower, battery trimmer, plug-in edger, battery pole saw, and chainsaw.

Amy shared that she loves watching online videos where people find properties badly in need of lawn care and help transform them. For her, volunteering is also a meaningful way to get out of the house and make a difference.

Grateful we could help make this connection.

Cheryl, a single mom of one in the West Denver area, reached out to us after her lawn mower stopped working. Her yard had not been cut since last year, and she was hoping for a little help while she figures out a longer-term solution.

In stepped Sam, who connected with Cheryl through our online platform, coordinated the visit, and helped bring some curb appeal back to her yard.

According to Sam, the visit went well, and he was glad to help. Sam runs a part-time, one-man landscaping company ( Treeline Property Services ) , but at his scale, mowing alone is not always profitable. Instead, he has found it meaningful to offer free mowing visits between his xeriscaping installs and larger jobs.

Sam is looking forward to helping with more volunteer visits around West Denver this summer.

Thank you, Sam, for using your time, tools, and talent to make a difference. One visit really can mean a lot. 🌱

Rick from Belleville, NJ recently reached out to us hoping for some help with his yard.

At 67 years old, living with a serious heart condition and unable to keep up with the lawn and leaves on his own, he was hoping a volunteer might be able to lend a hand.

Thankfully, Mike stepped up.

Mike visited Rick’s home last week and helped mow, clean up w**ds, and make a big difference around the property — completely free of charge, as a good neighbor does. Rick was incredibly appreciative, and Mike even offered to help again as his schedule allows.

These before-and-after photos show more than just yard work. They show kindness, relief, and the power of simple human connection.

Thank you, Mike, for representing I Want To Mow Your Lawn with heart and generosity.

Spreading kindness and enriching human connections through simple lawn service for those most in need.

Follow along to support our charitable efforts and help keep the going. 🌱

A call came in from Rose in Maryland on behalf of her husband, Thomas, who is 74, on oxygen, and connected through the VA.

While we were looking into the request, Dawn’s husband stepped up and took care of the yard with a push mower and w**d eater. Their son Dylan is part of Raising Men & Women Lawn Care Service and had originally committed to the 50 Yard Challenge, but with finals last week and weekend commitments, Dad handled it for now.

Hopefully, as summer settles in, Dylan can continue helping maintain the yard and keep working toward that 50-yard challenge started by Rodney Smith Jr. .

Huge thanks to the parents for stepping up and showing what community support looks like. 🌱

Honored to welcome Nathaniel from Hammond, Louisiana to the I Want To Mow Your Lawn volunteer network. 🇺🇸🌱

Nathaniel is a proud USMC combat veteran, father of four daughters, and originally from Tennessee. He earns a living through general landscaping, but in his own words, he often ends up mowing for free for people who truly need the help.

That spirit is exactly what our nonprofit was built around: helping older adults, veterans, disabled neighbors, and others who may not be able to afford regular lawn care receive a little relief when generous people step up.

Nathaniel comes equipped and ready to serve — from a monstrous Exmark Lazer Z 60-inch mower to additional tools for smaller and moderate-sized homes, including a Milwaukee 21-inch battery push mower, STIHL FS70/91 w**d eaters, STIHL pole saws, and STIHL 391/661 chainsaws.

Most importantly, we are grateful for his service to our nation, his heart for helping others, and his willingness to use his skills and equipment to make a difference in his community.

Welcome aboard, Nathaniel. We’re honored and thankful to have you with us. 🙏

Haji has been generously volunteering for a couple of homes in need around the Springfield, MA area over the past year — and he’s looking to take on more when time allows.

Between work and being a father, he still finds ways to give back and help neighbors who could use some lawn care relief.

Recently, we were able to support his efforts with dozens of leaf bags, a leaf chute, and even helped facilitate an in-kind donation of a backpack leaf blower from Wild Badger. When Haji mentioned that the mower he had been using needed maintenance, we encouraged him to check nearby listings. He came across a working vintage 1987 Toro mower for $75 — and through our foundation, we fully funded it so he could pick it up and put it to meaningful work serving others.

This is what tangible impact looks like: a modest equipment upgrade that helps a dedicated volunteer continue showing up for people in need.

If you’re feeling generous and want to help create more outcomes like this, search I Want To Mow Your Lawn online to find ways to support our registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation.

And speaking of “marketplace” — we have our own, called Pay It Forward, created for those who want to part ways with working landscaping equipment. Whether it’s a loaner or a donation, equipment listed there can help volunteers like Haji continue serving neighbors in their communities.

Every mower, blower, trimmer, rake, bag, and act of kindness helps. 🌱
