Satilla Advocacy Services (SAS) is a r**e-crisis and child advocacy center that also offers prevention education programs to the community.

SAS, located in Waycross, Georgia, with satellite offices in Douglas, Nahunta, and Folkston, is a non-profit organization formed to provide services for sexual assault survivors in Bacon, Brantley, Charlton, Coffee, Pierce and Ware Counties. Staff and volunteers are trained in the legal and medical aspects of r**e crisis intervention for survivors of all ages. We provide counseling and emotional support, evidence exams, emergency assistance, and accompaniment and advocacy for survivors and their families. Specialized services for children are also available. In addition to providing these services to survivors and their families, it is the mission of Satilla Advocacy Services to educate the public on how to recognize and prevent sexual assaults.

A little football, a lot of fun, and plenty of treats! 🎃🏈

Some of our team had so much fun at Ruskin Elementary School’s Trunk or Treat today! We went all in on the gameday theme, with our staff splitting up the fun and bringing their own game-day spirit to the table!

It was such a fun morning getting to see the students, enjoy the creativity, and simply be part of such a great event.

A big thank you to Ruskin Elementary for inviting us and allowing us to be part of the fun! We’re always thankful for opportunities to show up, connect with our community, and make a few sweet memories along the way. 🧡

We are so thankful for the kindness and support of ADK Blackshear!

ADK Blackshear generously donated stuffed animals and candy to help us spread a little extra joy in our community, and we’re so grateful for their continued support of Satilla Advocacy Services.

Our Community Awareness Coordinator, Maggie Santana, had the opportunity to speak with Unison Clubhouse Programs about substance abuse awareness and prevention in partnership with Georgia Department of Public Health.

We’re grateful for opportunities like this to connect with our community, share important information, and help promote awareness, education, and prevention. Thank you to Unison Clubhouse for welcoming Maggie and creating space for this important conversation!

Together, we can continue to educate, empower, and make a difference in our community. 💙

From little smiles to big laughs, we loved getting to see so many kids stop by our booth and have a little fun with us at PumpkinFest last week! Seeing the excitement on their faces is one of the sweetest parts of being involved in events like this.

We’re so thankful for the opportunity to be present, connect with local families, and be a small part of the memories being made right here in our community.

Recently, our Community Awareness Coordinator, Maggie Santana, visited Pierce County High School to teach students about Erin’s Law and the importance of personal safety, body boundaries, and recognizing trusted adults they can turn to for help.

Education and awareness are powerful tools in prevention, and we are grateful for the opportunity to help equip students with the knowledge and confidence to speak up and seek support when needed.

A special thank you to PCHS for welcoming us and helping us make student safety a priority! 💙
