Waukegan Mayor Sam Cunningham and the Waukegan City Council proclaimed the month of June as Pride Month in the City of Waukegan and presented the official proclamation to Waukegan Friends.
The City of Waukegan recognizes that the LGBTQIA+ community is an integral part of the cultural landscape of the city and remains steadfast in its commitment to dignity, inclusion, and the celebration of every individual’s right to live openly and with pride. Pride Month provides an opportunity for all residents of Waukegan to honor the ongoing contributions of the LGBTQIA+ community and to reaffirm that every individual, regardless of who they are or who they love, is safe, valued, and celebrated in Waukegan.
