Three of the firefighters who assisted in yesterdays ice rescue began their careers here as Cadets. Now proudly serving as both career and part-time firefighters within our department. Watching them answer the call and serve our community is something we’re incredibly proud of.

Pretty cool seeing a current Cadet and a former Cadet (now part time member) training together during a shift training, while the Cadet was on a ride along. Both did a great job!

The Cadets completed productive training this morning, focusing on hose pulling, hose reloading, and SCBA confidence drills. Their commitment to developing strong foundational skills continues to stand out. Excellent work by all!

Congrats to former Cadet Jack G, who was pinned last night after completing the 13-week Memphis, Tennessee Fire Academy!
Jack began his journey in our cadet program back in 2021. From there, he went on to attend the fire academy and served part-time for two years, until making the move to Memphis.
We’re incredibly proud of how far he’s come and excited to see where his fire service career takes him next. Great job and be safe Jack!
