The colorful traditions of Albanian culture will be on full display in the South End of Waterbury tonight and tomorrow, June 5th and 6th, at the Albanian American Moslem Community Center at 38 Raymond Street.

There will be live music, traditional Albanian food, dance performances and the event is free and open to the public.

The action starts Friday night at 5 pm and continues until 10 pm. The festival ramps up again on Saturday from Noon to 10 PM.

The food includes traditional byrek, savory phyllo dough pie, kofte, lamb, and handmade sweets including baklava (traditional phyllo dough layers with walnuts and syrup, shekerpare, a traditional cookie soaked in syrup, Turkish coffee and more.

Dance performances will be at 6:30 both nights, followed by live music.
