🎓Congratulations to Kelsey Murray, recipient of the 2026 Nathaniel P. Simmons III Scholarship from the Simmons Memorial Foundation🎓
This fall, Kelsey will attend Auburn University , where she will continue a remarkable record of academic achievement, leadership, and service as she pursues a degree in Exercise Science and Performance Health Optimization.
Throughout her experience at Ramsay IB High School in Birmingham, Alabama , Kelsey distinguished herself as a leader among her peers, serving as both Junior Class President and Senior Class President, as well as holding leadership roles in organizations including FBLA, Beta Club, and her church youth ministry. An International Baccalaureate Diploma candidate, Kelsey has earned membership in multiple honor societies, achieved state-level success in FBLA competition, and remained actively involved in athletics, student government, community service, and mentorship programs.
The Nathaniel P. Simmons III Scholarship honors the memory of Nathaniel P. Simmons III (1971–1995). Diagnosed with chronic kidney failure at an early age, Nate faced extraordinary health challenges throughout his life. Despite a failed kidney transplant and ongoing illness, he remained determined to achieve his dream of earning a college education. Through perseverance, resilience, and the support of his family, Nate graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Labor and Industrial Relations in August 1995.
Kelsey's commitment to excellence, leadership, and service reflects the determination and perseverance that defined Nate's life. We are proud to recognize her achievements and invest in her bright future.
