🎓Congratulations to Kelsey Murray, recipient of the 2026 Nathaniel P. Simmons III Scholarship from the Simmons Memorial Foundation🎓

This fall, Kelsey will attend Auburn University , where she will continue a remarkable record of academic achievement, leadership, and service as she pursues a degree in Exercise Science and Performance Health Optimization.

Throughout her experience at Ramsay IB High School in Birmingham, Alabama , Kelsey distinguished herself as a leader among her peers, serving as both Junior Class President and Senior Class President, as well as holding leadership roles in organizations including FBLA, Beta Club, and her church youth ministry. An International Baccalaureate Diploma candidate, Kelsey has earned membership in multiple honor societies, achieved state-level success in FBLA competition, and remained actively involved in athletics, student government, community service, and mentorship programs.

The Nathaniel P. Simmons III Scholarship honors the memory of Nathaniel P. Simmons III (1971–1995). Diagnosed with chronic kidney failure at an early age, Nate faced extraordinary health challenges throughout his life. Despite a failed kidney transplant and ongoing illness, he remained determined to achieve his dream of earning a college education. Through perseverance, resilience, and the support of his family, Nate graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Labor and Industrial Relations in August 1995.

Kelsey's commitment to excellence, leadership, and service reflects the determination and perseverance that defined Nate's life. We are proud to recognize her achievements and invest in her bright future.

Please join us in congratulating Kelsey on this well-deserved honor and wishing her continued success at Auburn University!

🎓 Congratulations to Mikala Galloway, recipient of the 2026 Nathaniel P. Simmons, Jr. Scholarship from the Simmons Memorial Foundation! 🎓

This fall, Mikala will attend The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to pursue a degree in Biology.

A dedicated student leader and community advocate, Mikala made a lasting impact throughout her high school career. She founded and served as Vice President of her school's Debate Club, held leadership roles in Key Club and Student Council, and volunteered extensively through literacy programs, blood drives, community events, and service initiatives benefiting children, seniors, and local families. Her commitment to scholarship and service earned her recognition as a Kernersville Rotary Student of the Month and membership in the National Honor Society and multiple academic honor societies.

One of the most meaningful parts of SMF’s Champagne Reception is the sharing of testimonials by SMF alumni. Listen to Alan’s story of how his experience with SMF opened him up new opportunities and supported him through his journey from southern Delaware to the Ivy League

SMF's 2026 Champagne Gala and Art Auction was an incredible afternoon of fellowship, community, inspiration, and generosity. Enjoy this preview of images before the full gallery is available at simmonsmemorialfoundation.org later this week. Please tag yourself and feel free to download and share, tagging on Instagram and on Facebook.

The continuing, sustaining support of our platinum, silver, bronze, and in-kind donors, our sponsors, our individual patrons and donors, and our art auction participants is humbling and deeply appreciated.

Soon we will share more testimonials of the difference SMF has made in the lives of it's members over the decades.

Please share about this organization to any families in your network with teenagers whose perspectives could be broadened by individualized guidance in the college process. Paraphrasing one of our alums who spoke (video to follow), students look up and see and a ceiling when they could be looking up and seeing the sky. Help us help the next generation achieve even more than they could have imagined.

Donations towards this spring's fundraising goal are still accepted through this link (there's an "I'd just like to donate" option at the bottom if you scroll down: 🔗 https://givebutter.com/c/SMF2026 and as always, through simmonsmemorialfoundation.org/give
