This was the last cow slaughterhouse in Los Angeles. USDA-inspected, and a supplier to federal school lunch programs.

From October to December 2024, Animal Outlook went undercover inside Manning Beef in Pico Rivera, California.

We documented cows who appeared conscious as they were cut into, improper stunning, and downed cows shocked with electric prods.

This is what federal humane slaughter law is meant to prevent. It happened anyway, under inspection.

In 2025 Manning Beef filed for bankruptcy. This year, it closed for good. That happened because people refused to look away. But it was never one bad slaughterhouse. This is how the industry is built to run.

The most powerful thing you can do is stop funding it. Choose plant protein.

He pulled his hand away multiple times but they kept putting it back...

This is undercover footage, shared with Animal Outlook, inside Ali Meat International in Orlando, Florida. A USDA-registered slaughterhouse that federal inspectors suspended in 2021. It is still open in 2026.

A child’s first instinct was to refuse, but the people around him had already learned not to. That is what this system does. It tries to make violence ordinary, even for a kid.

We have protected his identity, but we cannot protect the animals still inside. Not without your help.

Florida’s Commissioner of Agriculture, Wilton Simpson, can move this from investigation to prosecution, before more animals suffer and another child is put in that position.

This is a baby turkey’s first day alive.

Animal Outlook filmed inside a Foster Farms turkey hatchery in Fresno. Day-old babies had parts of their beaks and toes burned off with no painkillers. The ones seen as too sick or weak were sealed into plastic bags and gassed.

Some were still moving minutes after the bag was tied.

No federal law protects birds from the moment they hatch to the day they’re killed. Not in 2015 when this was filmed, and still not in 2026 as you are watching. We need to make a change.

BREAKING: a new investigation just exposed a USDA slaughterhouse in Orlando, Florida.

At Ali Meat International, a veterinarian reviewed the footage and concluded a cow was still conscious for at least three minutes after her throat was cut. Blinking. Breathing. Still trying to cry out.

Here is what the footage documents:
Animals cut while still conscious.
Lambs and goats thrown onto piles while still alive.
Cows shocked with electric prods on their faces and necks.
The facility allowing untrained paying customers to perform the cuts.

None of this is new for this facility. The USDA suspended operations in 2021 after an inspector saw an employee throw a conscious lamb against a metal fence. In 2024 it was cited again after a failed stun. It never closed.

Animal Outlook has reported this facility to law enforcement. Florida’s Commissioner of Agriculture, Wilton Simpson, can move this from investigation to prosecution.

Dead piglets, ground into a slurry and fed back to the herd. We documented it at Hawkeye Sow Centers, a pig breeding farm in Iowa.

Somehow, this is completely legal even though pigs are as bright and social as the dogs we live with. This is the part of animal agriculture that nobody wants to advertise. This is what happens to animals when no one is meant to be watching.

You’d recognize it instantly if it were a dog.

In New York City there are storefronts where you can point at a living animal and have her killed in the back minutes later. They’re called live markets, and they’re legal.

We went undercover at five of them across NYC and Long Island. We documented chickens crammed into wire cages, pulled out by their wings, swung upside down, and slaughtered while still conscious. State regulators have cited these markets more than 2,000 times since 2022. They’re still open.

The only thing separating these animals from the pets we love is a storefront wall — and the fact that we’re not meant to see behind it.

This is Manning Beef. LA County’s last cow slaughterhouse. As of last month, it’s closed for good.

Animal Outlook went inside from October to December 2024 and documented what nearly a century of “business as usual” actually looked like.

A downed cow shocked with an electric prod more than 20 times.
Cows dropped head-first onto concrete.
Cows cut into while still showing signs of consciousness.

Manning had 61 USDA violations between 2018 and 2025. Inspections suspended twice, and E. coli found in ground beef headed for the National School Lunch Program.

None of this is a “one-time thing.” Facilities like this continue to be filmed by undercover investigations. If it’s hard to watch, it should be hard to eat. Leave animals off your plate.

All of it is taught to kids as normal. This is a youth livestock show at the Farm Credit Dairy and Livestock Center in Tulare, California.

A goat pulled by the tail to walk faster.
A cow led by a rope through the nose.
Animals given a number, then a price.

That’s how these programs work. A child raises a young animal, names him, learns his personality, then prepares to sell him at an auction where animals are bought for slaughter. Researchers call it emotional socialization: teaching kids to override the bond they form so the ending feels normal.

Share this before the next kid is taught this is the “right” way to treat an animal.

This is what happens when a mother is treated as a unit of production instead of an animal who feels fear.

Holden Farms in Utica, Minnesota breeds pigs for some of the largest pork companies in the country. The mothers there spend their lives in cages too small to turn around in.

Animal Outlook documented them being kicked and beaten, left with untreated injuries, and fed a slurry made from the intestines of dead piglets.

In the dairy industry, a male calf can’t make milk, so he’s treated as waste.

Quanah Cattle Company bought newborn calves from nearby dairies, held them about a week, then shipped them out for veal and beef. Most were male.

Animal Outlook documented these days-old calves being dragged by their legs, pulled by their ears, kicked, and thrown.

Three workers pleaded guilty to criminal cruelty, but the system that treats these babies as a byproduct is still standard.
