What we restore together says a lot about who we are.

Most people associate Pearl Harbor with December 7, 1941. But native Hawaiians knew these waters as Wai Momi, "pearl waters," home to ancient fishponds built over centuries. Only three remain today.

Archaeologist Jeffrey Pantaleo rediscovered one hidden beneath overgrown mangrove and has spent the last decade bringing it back to life alongside native Hawaiian and military communities.

On Memorial Day, we pause to honor those who gave everything in service to this country. We're grateful for their sacrifice and for the freedoms it protects, including the public lands and natural spaces that belong to all of us. Today and every day, we remember.

We are looking back on our favorite moments from last year and are grateful to our partners Bureau of Land Management, National Park Service, Tennessee State Parks, and the many other organizations that made an impact with us on National Public Lands Day!

Over 55,000 participants nationwide came together to help conserve our public lands. Every action counted, and these added up to over $9.4 million of volunteer service hours. Thank you to everyone who participated. Save the date for this year's National Public Lands Day 9/26/26.

Another impactful Day is in the books!
Thousands of volunteers came together across the country to restore, care for, and enjoy our shared outdoor spaces.

Thanks to the leadership of hundreds of dedicated Site Managers, more than 55,000 participants connected with public lands through trail cleanups, stargazing, citizen science, and more.

We are also grateful to the site managers who shared their conservation outcomes through our post-event survey, helping us better understand the reach and impact of NPLD nationwide.

See how you made a difference by exploring the full report with impact data, photos, and stories on our website.

Explore the highlights of National Public Lands Day (NPLD) 2024 when tens of thousands of people across the country—and the globe— joined together to restore and improve America’s public lands as part of the 31st annual NPLD.
