Columbia University’s Temple Hoyne Buell Center for the Study of American Architecture and ACSA are pleased to share a competitive call for course proposals on the theme of “Architecture, Climate Change, and Society.” Successful proposals for this Course Development Prize will include methods and themes that innovate within their institutional setting—asking hard questions of students that are equal in weight to the hard questions being asked of society as it continues to grapple with the intertwined causes and effects of climate change.

Two (2) proposals will be selected by the jury for five thousand dollars ($5,000) each in cash prizes.

Prize participants may submit either a full course syllabus or specify a particular unit/component within a syllabus for consideration by the submission deadline: February 1, 2027.

Don’t miss the upcoming submission deadline for the 2027 ACSA/EAAE Teachers Conference: October 14, 2026!

The 2027 ACSA/EAAE Teachers Conference will focus on reframing the role of analog teaching in a digital society and will gather educators, practitioners, researchers, and students in Riga, Latvia.

The conference invites papers or posters that explore the present and future societal role of architectural education. Topics may range from hybrid strategies that balance technological innovation with experiential learning to pedagogical methods that develop sensory skills and beyond.

Join us in Riga for an opportunity to expand your pedagogy and explore the city’s rich history and notable medieval, Gothic, Art Nouveau, and modern architecture.

The architectural education community is mourning the loss of Geraldine Forbes Isais, a visionary leader, educator, and tireless advocate for equity and inclusion. Forbes Isais broke historic barriers when she was elected as the first Hispanic president of ACSA for the 2003–04 academic year. She will be remembered by many for championing underrepresented voices and mentoring generations of faculty and students.

There’s still time left to submit papers and projects for ACSA’s 115th Annual Meeting! 📣

The ACSA115 submission deadline has been extended to Monday, October 12, 2026.

This conference will provide multiple opportunities for scholarly exchange in Atlanta, March 18-20, 2027.

This is a great opportunity for educators, practitioners, researchers, and students to present their research and projects to colleagues from across the world. Submissions to ACSA115 will be accepted on all topics that contribute to architecture research and do not need to be tied to an overarching conference theme.

The Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (ACSA) seeks an innovative, collaborative leader to bridge support for architectural pedagogy with institutional research, driving ACSA’s role as a convener and advocate for architectural educators.

The Director of Education and Research will lead ACSA’s efforts to support member school faculty across all degree tracks—from associate’s to doctoral programs—by developing pedagogical resources, convening faculty workshops and webinars, and supporting volunteer committees. Concurrently, the director will oversee ACSA’s institutional research portfolio, collecting, analyzing, and disseminating data on architectural education, higher education trends, and the AEC industry.

These duties require knowledge of architectural pedagogy and higher education, skills in multi-project management, ability to synthesize and communicate qualitative and quantitative data verbally and visually, and a strong orientation to service for ACSA members.
