Come CONNECT with a Committee at IPO's Annual Meeting!
IPO has 29 active committees working on the most important areas of IP law and practice. Committees prepare reports and develop recommendations for the IPO Board of Directors on current IP law, policy, and business issues.

Committees will host in-person OPEN HOUSES on Sunday, September 27 for all registered attendees of IPO’s Annual Meeting. You do not have to be a member of the committee to attend the business meetings.

The Committee Open House will provide attendees a look into what committees do and will help members decide if they want to join a committee. Next Tuesday, IPO will host a webinar on "Anti-Suit Injunctions in IP Litigation" (July 14, 1-2pm ET). The panel will discuss anti-suit injunctions in IP litigation including how they relate to Standard Essential Patents and FRAND licensing negotiations. Anti-suit injunctions are becoming increasingly relevant in disputes having international contexts and several recent cases have addressed use of anti-suit injunctions to enjoin parties from proceeding with parallel litigation in different forums. The panel will review the historical foundation and development of anti-suit injunctions, analyze these more recent cases, and discuss elements counsel should consider in matters that could or do involve anti-suit injunctions. Our panel includes Steve Akerley (InterDigital, Inc.), Tom Brown (Dell Technologies), Jorge Contreras (University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law), and Karl Gross (Leydig, Voit & Mayer, Ltd.).

IPO hosted our annual IP Innovation Dialogue Meetings in Asia (Tokyo) on June 8-9. Over the two days, they met with the Japan Patent Office (JPO), IP High Court of Japan, Japan Intellectual Property Association (JIPA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the IP Group of Keidanren. Various topics were discussed, with a focus on AI in the U.S. and Japan.
