On the International Day in Support of Victims of Torture, IAWJ spoke with Alejandra Vicente, Head of Law at REDRESS and a member of the GQUAL Secretariat, about the importance of women's leadership in international human rights bodies.
Despite their critical role in advancing equality and accountability, women remain severely underrepresented in the Committee Against Torture (CAT).

At IAWJ, we recognize that the judiciary is the ultimate safeguard against torture. By ensuring accountability and protecting victims' rights, judges play a vital role in making justice a reality for survivors.

Today, on the International Day for Countering Hate Speech, we recognize the harmful impact that hate speech can have on individuals, communities, and the rule of law. 🎤⚖️
Hate speech fuels discrimination, exclusion, and violence, threatening the fundamental principles of equality and human dignity that justice systems are meant to uphold.

As the World Cup brings nations together through a shared commitment to rules, integrity, respect, and fair competition, we are reminded that these same values are at the heart of justice.
