WeWIL is back for its third edition. ✨
💬Sometimes, the most useful career advice begins with the chance to ask the right person the right question.

That is what Empowering Women in International Law (WeWIL) is all about: connecting women law students from around the world with women judges and leading professionals working across international courts and tribunals, UN bodies, arbitration, human rights, international criminal law, and other areas of international legal practice.

🤝Through direct, small-group conversations, students can explore career pathways, seek practical advice, and learn firsthand from women already shaping the field.

In 2025, the program brought together:
🎓 145 students from 49 countries
📝More than 500 students applications
⚖️ 60+ judges and experts representing 43 institutions

📣Now, applications are open for WeWIL 2026. If International Law is part of the future you are building, this is your opportunity to find guidance, make meaningful connections, and become part of a growing global community of women in the field.

Solidarity saves lives. ⚖️🌍🕊️

This World Humanitarian Day, we honor the courage of Afghan women judges who faced unimaginable danger simply for serving on the bench.

Five years after the Taliban takeover of Kabul, we remember their stories—and the global solidarity that followed. Women judges around the world came together to help evacuate more than 200 of their Afghan sisters, demonstrating the strength of our global judicial community when it matters most.

Today, we share the letter of one Afghan woman judge who was rescued and able to escape Kabul, a powerful reminder of both the risks they faced and the impact of collective action.

On World day against Trafficking in Persons, we want to focus on strengthening the judiciary's role in protecting survivors, holding traffickers accountable, and ensuring justice for all. The 2025 Trafficking in Persons (TIP) Report, released by the U.S. Department of State, offers an in-depth layout of worldwide efforts in tackling human trafficking. ⚖️

Every child deserves a future of their own choosing. 🛑

Yet, human trafficking networks continue to exploit vulnerable women and girls through child marriages. We cannot fight what we do not understand. The ASEAN Guidelines for Addressing Child and Forced Marriage within the Context of Trafficking in Persons is a comprehensive guide designed to stop this cycle of exploitation. ⚖️
