The Board of Trustees and staff of the DC Trust are deeply saddened to hear the news of the sudden passing of Fabian Barnes, founder of the Dance Institute of Washington (DIW). Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time.

DIW has been a grantee of the Trust since 2004, and has served nearly 500 children through our investments since that time. Barnes’ legacy and service to the children and youth in the city will always be cherished and remembered.

DC Trust will be closing tomorrow January 22, 2016 at 12pm due to the impeding snow.

DC Trust wins 1st place at the ‘Documentary in A Day’ Film Contest

Stone Soup Films recently featured the Hung Tao Choy Mei Leadership Institute in a short film. The mini doc was entered into a film contest called Documentary in A Day where the filmmakers had only 24 hours to shoot the film and then edit it for the competition. Last Monday DC Trust went to the screening of all the films and scoring by the judges. O Happy Day! We were declared the 1st place winning film in the competition.
