You’ve probably checked a lot off the back-to-school list already.

But some of the most important things she needs this year won’t show up on any supply list.

How does she feel about herself right now? Where does she feel like she belongs? What is she saying to herself when she thinks she doesn’t measure up?

Our latest blog looks beyond the usual checklist with five things worth making room for as she starts a new year. https://bit.ly/4qdXOpm

With summer on its last legs, you've probably been thinking about which activities you're going to sign your girl up for this school year.

Here are a few reasons you should pick Girls on the Run (grades 3-5) or Heart & Sole (grades 6-8).

1. She'll find the confidence to be herself. By the age of 9 a girl's self-confidence can take a drastic dip. Our research-based programming provides tools she can use to find or develop positive thinking and continue to grow her voice.

2. She'll recognize her potential and begin to rise above any limiting expectations.

3. She'll make new friends and connect on a level that shares her heart.

4. She'll learn that she can overcome obstacles and move past what looks like an unapproachable mountain.

And, she'll do all this while staying active and creating healthy habits that will stay with her for life.

If that sounds exactly like what your girl needs, visit www.gotrdc.org/programs and register her today.

70% of Girls on the Run–DC participants receive full scholarships to experience our program.

No questions asked. No girl turned away.

That is only possible because of support from people who believe girls deserve access to spaces where they can grow, connect and build confidence.

Your support helps us keep saying yes.

Encouragement has a way of adding up.

It happens when you remember her idea, ask what she thinks or remind her that one hard day does not get the final word.

We're halfway through our 20th year, and we’re continuing to collect the moments and stories that have shaped Girls on the Run–DC since 2006.

The first time a girl speaks up. A friendship that continues beyond the season. A coach who helps her recognize her own strength. These are the stories behind 20 years of impact.

Whether you’re a parent or guardian, coach, volunteer, or longtime supporter, we’d love to hear what Girls on the Run–DC has meant to you.

Fall registration is now open!

This season, participants will use the Hello, Mountain Movercurriculum, which encourages girls to build the confidence to do hard things and support others as they do the same.

There’s a lot that happens during a Girls on the Run–DC season. Girls build friendships, practice important life skills, take part in a community impact project, work toward goals and train together for a 5K.

Give the girl in your life a chance to experience it all this fall.

Registration for Girls on the Run (grades 3–5) and Heart & Sole (grades 6–8) opens Monday, July 20!

Visit: www.gotrdc.org/programs.

What starts as a way to give back can become one of the most energizing parts of your week.

Coach Brianna’s story is a reminder that being a Girls on the Run coach is not only about helping girls grow. It can also bring connection, joy, and a renewed sense of purpose to your own week.

As we prepare for the fall season, we’re looking for community coaches to help create that same sense of connection for the next group of girls. No running experience is required. All you need is a willingness to show up, encourage your team, and grow alongside them.

To learn more and sign up, visit www.gotrdc.org/coach.
