We are taking action for military transparency.

Together with the ACLU Women's Rights Project and the National Women's Law Center, we have filed a federal FOIA lawsuit against the Department of Defense.

The suit comes after the Pentagon failed to release requested records concerning a review of women in ground combat roles. More than 5,000 women have served in ground combat positions since 2016, meeting every standard and proving their effectiveness every single day. The women who wear our nation's uniform deserve full accountability, transparency, and support rather than hidden data.

We also recognize the resilience and unwavering dedication of the Sailors aboard USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72), who continue to execute their mission with extraordinary skill and professionalism through long deployments.

Behind every vessel, deployment, and successful mission are the extraordinary women and men who serve. From the earliest days of our nation to today's forward-deployed destroyers, women sailors have served with resilience and unwavering strength.
