Today is DAF Day!

Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) are becoming an increasingly popular way for individuals to support the causes they care about and make a lasting impact in their communities.

At Calvary, we've seen more supporters choosing to invest in our life-changing programs through their DAFs, empowering women to end their homelessness through access to the housing, health, employment, and education resources they need to build stable, independent futures.

But how exactly does giving through a DAF work, and how can you use yours to support Calvary?

Last year, our CEO, Kris Thompson, sat down with Calvary supporter and wealth advisor Colin Kimpel to discuss the benefits of giving through a DAF, the financial considerations, and how your generosity can make a meaningful difference for the women we serve.

October 1 marks the beginning of Domestic Violence Awareness Month. In DC, 41% of women have experienced domestic violence, that we know of.

As our CEO, Kris Thompson, shares, "we all know a survivor." For many women, escaping domestic violence also leads to a period of housing insecurity and homelessness.

At Calvary Women's Services, we support women not only by providing a safe place to stay, but also by providing the resources they need to rebuild their lives and regain their financial independence. Women in our programs have access to financial literacy classes, one-on-one job search support, and a flex fund to help rebuild their financial health and reclaim control of their futures.
