Interstate Technology Regulatory Council ITRC is a state-led non-profit dedicated to developing solutions for environmental challenges.

We bring together government, industry, academia, & the public to broaden technical knowledge, expedite informed decision-making, & accelerate progress. ITRC is a public-private coalition working to reduce barriers to the use of innovative environmental technologies that reduce compliance costs and maximize cleanup efficacy. ITRC produces documents and training that broaden and deepen technical knowledge and expedite quality regulatory decision making while protecting human health and the environment. ITRC achieves its mission through its technical teams, which are composed of environmental professionals, including state and federal environmental regulators, federal agency representatives, industry experts, community stakeholders, and academia. Since 1995, ITRC has published hundreds of documents and reached tens of thousands of participants through training courses on hundreds of topics. With private and public sector members from all 50 states and the District of Columbia, ITRC truly provides a national perspective. Overseen by The Environmental Research Institute of the States (ERIS) and the The Environmental Council of the States (ECOS).

ITRC's two-part V***r Intrusion (VI) Mitigation Training will kick off next week with Session 1 being held on Thursday, March 14th from 1:00-3:00 PM EST. Our featured trainers include: Kelly Johnson, P.G., David Folkes, Emma Hong Luo, Jennifer Borski, Eric Blodgett, and Marek Ostrowski.

While the training makes every effort to keep the information accessible to a wide audience, it is assumed that the participants will have some basic technical understanding of chemistry, environmental sciences, and risk assessment. As with other emerging contaminants, our understanding of v***r intrusion mitigation continues to advance. This training provides the participants with information on areas where the science is evolving and where uncertainty persists.

ITRC is excited to announce the release of our Managed Aquifer Recharge (MAR) Guidance!

ITRC's new MAR Guidance provides a basic understanding of MAR and its applications through the presentation of:

- A model of the MAR process illustrating the four key components of MAR and their interaction.

- An overview of the applications of MAR and its role in addressing climate change impacts through sustainability and resilience in water resources management.

- Information on the key components of MAR and the critical considerations for each component in the design of a MAR project.

- Case studies illustrating the various applications of MAR.

ITRC is excited to announce the release of our Contaminants of Emerging Concern (CEC) Framework!

The ITRC CEC Framework is comprised of a white paper and four associated fact sheets. These materials were developed to help environmental regulatory agencies and other stakeholders identify examples of CEC monitoring programs; evaluate potential hazard by systematically applying key CEC characteristics; communicate real and perceived risk from CEC to the public; and understand how laboratory analytical methods can be used in the identification process.
