HBCU 20x20 We’re the nation’s leading free resource for academic and career access.

Our founder, Nicole Tinson-Johnson, attended Dillard University, an HBCU, in New Orleans, LA. She was selected as a White House HBCU All Star, secured Michelle Obama to be her class' commencement speaker and went on to Yale for graduate school. While at Yale, she served as a Graduate Assistant at the Afro American Cultural Center and worked directly with student leaders and groups. She quickly realized how many Fortune 500 and tech companies gravitated towards Yale to recruit students, but never visited her HBCU. She decided that access to quality jobs and internships were important for all students, especially students at HBCUs and her team developed HBCU 20x20 to fill that gap. Closing the access gap that exists between HBCUs and other institutions means providing direct resources to the stakeholders who need it most: the students. Our projects' goal is to directly place 20,000 students and recent graduates from HBCUs into internship and job opportunities by the year 2020 and provide them with career development resources. We do this by hosting career development workshops, fellowship programs and continuing to develop partnerships with companies and a coalition of organizations to build access to resources for students and graduates.

Yesterday, we officially kicked off Cohort V of the U.S. Bank + HBCU 20x20 Finance Fellowship!

We’re excited to welcome 14 students representing seven Historically Black Colleges and Universities to this year’s cohort.

Over the next four weeks, these emerging leaders will have the opportunity to connect directly with U.S. Bank professionals, explore careers in financial services, strengthen their professional skills, and gain valuable insights into the industry.

Now in our fifth cohort, this partnership continues to reflect what is possible when employers make intentional investments in developing the next generation of talent.

We’re grateful to U.S. Bank for its continued partnership and commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for HBCU students.

To our Cohort V fellows, welcome! We’re excited for the conversations, connections, and growth ahead.
