We are excited to welcome Brian Menell as the newest member of AALAC’s Advisory Council.

Menell is founder, chairman, and chief executive officer of TechMet, a critical minerals investment company focused on producing, processing, and recycling metals essential to twenty-first-century technologies. His work spans critical mineral supply chains across the Americas, Europe, and Africa.

We are excited to welcome Alejandra Castro as the newest member of AALAC’s Advisory Council.

Castro is Vice President of International Affairs and Sustainability Strategy at Bayer, where she leads global engagement with international organizations and multilateral policy processes on sustainability, trade, regenerative agriculture, and agricultural transformation.

She brings more than twenty-five years of experience in the life sciences sector, with expertise across sustainability policy, international trade, biodiversity governance, and regulatory affairs.

Yesterday, our Advisory Council came together in Washington and virtually for its annual strategy meeting, bringing together members from across the region to reflect on a consequential year and look ahead.

We were honored to hear from special guests Colombia’s Ambassador to the United States María Consuelo Araújo and Missy Ryan of The Atlantic, who joined us for insightful conversations on the outlook for the region, the evolving US agenda for the Americas, and the opportunities ahead.

We are excited to welcome Eduardo Coello as the newest member of the AALAC Advisory Council.

As chairman of Visa Latin America and the Caribbean, Coello brings more than two decades of experience at Visa. He served as regional president for Latin America and the Caribbean from 2015 to 2025, overseeing operations across forty-four markets and territories.

🇵🇦 Yesterday, AALAC welcomed Panama’s Comptroller General Anel Flores for two conversations on fiscal transparency and confidence in Panama’s economy.

In a live discussion moderated by AALAC’s María Fernanda Bozmoski, Flores discussed efforts to strengthen auditing, improve public contracting, and reinforce fiscal discipline.

He also joined public- and private-sector leaders for a private roundtable on transparency, accountability, and the priorities ahead for Panama’s economy.
