(1) Rabbi Naftali Haleva of Istanbul who serves on the Turkish Rabbinate’s Spiritual Council, teaches Jewish studies at the Ulus Jewish Schools, and is Rabbi of the Ortaköy Etz Ahayyim Synagogue; and (2) Edwin Shuker of Dubai, an Iraqi-Jewish international businessman who is the outgoing Vice President of the Board of Deputies of British Jews, having served previously as the VP of the European Jewish Congress.

June 30, board member Marguerite Adams joined the Embassy of Israel for a Zionist LGBTQ+ Celebration in Memory of Sarah Milgrim’s Alyship.

Sarah Milgrim and Yaron Lischinsky were tragically shot and killed on May 21, 2025, outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., following a diplomatic event that was attended by two SHIN-DC board members.

June 17, Our Director with Ambassador Leiter at the Embassy for a discussion about the manufacturing of a modern blood libel: genocide, starvation, and the language of dehumanization.

The Ambassador stated:
“From the 20th century, we know that antisemitic incitement can turn deadly; so too in the 21st. False accusations of starvation and genocide are not confined to print or the ivory tower but have encouraged violence on our streets, from Boulder, Colorado, to Bondi Beach, Australia. On May 21, 2025, Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim, my dear Israeli Embassy staffers, were murdered in cold blood at the Capitol Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C. The assailant was steeped in the modern blood libel.”

Kosher wine reception of delicious, traditional Iraqi Jewish hors d’oeuvres, including sambusak (savory pastries) and haji bada (gluten-free almond cookies popular in the Iraqi Jewish community), 6:30PM, followed by program.
