🌸 Happy Mother’s Day / Feliz Día de las Madres 🌸

Yes, there are trans mothers.
Sí, existen madres trans.

Today we celebrate every trans woman and trans person who nurtures, protects, guides, and loves with the heart of a mother. Whether through birth, adoption, chosen family, mentorship, or community care — your motherhood is real, valid, and beautiful.

To all the trans mothers who continue loving fiercely in a world that too often tries to erase you:
we see you, we honor you, and we celebrate you. 💖

Motherhood is not defined by biology alone — it is defined by love, care, sacrifice, resilience, and presence.

Happy Trans Mother’s Day.
Feliz Día de las Madres Trans. 🏳️‍⚧️🌷

Today, we mourn the devastating loss of SaVanna Wanzer. 🖤

SaVanna was a pillar in our community—someone who opened doors, created space, and showed up with love, strength, and intention for our people. Her presence impacted so many lives, including ours at Trans-Latinx DMV.

As an organization, we recognize the legacy she leaves behind. A legacy of resilience, advocacy, and unwavering commitment to uplifting our community.

We are holding her loved ones, chosen family, and all who were touched by her light in our hearts during this difficult time.

May we continue to honor her by showing up for one another, by protecting our community, and by continuing the work she believed in.

Rest in power, SaVanna.
Always in our hearts. 🖤

Gracias, Diego, por tu lucha, tu valentía y tu amor por nuestra gente. 💙🏳️‍⚧️

Last night was one of those moments that reminds me why community matters so deeply. 💜

We gathered at the MoCo Pride Center surrounded by love, resilience, and powerful voices. Seeing so many community members show up, hold space, and celebrate each other was truly beautiful. Spaces like this are not just events—they are reminders that we are not alone.

I am especially proud that our Trans-Latinx DMV family was present, visible, and grounded in purpose. We continue to show up, not just for celebration, but for each other—every single day.

A very special moment of the night was when Natali Fani-González delivered a proclamation for Trans Day of Visibility—in Spanish.
That mattered. Representation in language matters. Being seen and affirmed in our own words matters.

In times where our community continues to face barriers and attacks, moments like these remind us of our strength, our culture, and our collective power.

We are here.
We have always been here.
And we are not going anywhere.

About last Friday… 🏛️✨

🌸 International Women’s Day / Día Internacional de la Mujer 🌸

Today we honor the power, resilience, and resistance of womxn everywhere — especially those of us living at the intersections: trans womxn, migrant womxn, Black and Indigenous womxn, Latina womxn, disabled womxn, s*x workers, survivors, and all those whose existence has been politicized.

In a political climate that tries to erase us, silence us, or divide us, we rise louder, prouder, and more united.
Our lives are not a debate.
Our dignity is not negotiable.
Our existence is resistance.

We stand in solidarity with all womxn fighting for safety, justice, healthcare, bodily autonomy, and the freedom to live authentically. When systems try to push us back, we organize, we care for one another, and we keep moving forward together.

Because when one womxn rises, we all rise.

💜 Happy International Women’s Day.
