This September, the spent the whole month on the road in Texas!

We kicked things off in San Antonio with Catholic Charities, Archdiocese of San Antonio, Inc., then headed to Richmond with Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. From there the Museum rolled down to the coast for Corpus Christi with Catholic Charities of Corpus Christi, Inc., and on to the border in Laredo with Catholic Charities Diocese of Laredo at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. We wrapped up the month out west, visiting Lubbock with Catholic Charities of Lubbock at the Diocese of Lubbock - Catholic Pastoral Center and Amarillo with Catholic Charities of the Texas Panhandle.

To every Catholic Charities USA agency, volunteer, and visitor who walked through our doors, recorded a story, or left a promise on the reflection wall, thank you for being the hope around the corner.

Up next: the People of Hope Museum finishes Texas in Fort Worth and Dallas, then heads to Louisiana for the first time with stops in Shreveport, Lake Charles, Baton Rouge, and Lafayette.

At a welcome project for newly arrived refugees, Devyn sat down to teach crochet to Delphine, a Haitian grandmother who spoke French while Devyn spoke English, Spanish, and German. Devyn taught her using the only French she knew — un, deux, trois — and Delphine kept asking for more yarn, FaceTiming her family back in Haiti to show them every square she finished.

Happy 6 months, !

Since March, we've traveled across the country to over 40 cities so far, sharing stories of hope, and we couldn't have done it without the local Catholic Charities agencies who opened their doors to host us. Thank you for welcoming us into your communities and helping so many people experience the museum.

The People of Hope Museum will travel the country through June 2028. Find us in your community and stop by for a visit!

We remember every life lost on September 11, 2001, at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. The profound sadness, fear, and disbelief of that morning still feel like yesterday. But amidst the darkness and tragedy, we witnessed something extraordinary: the courage of people who ran toward danger to help those in need. We honor the firefighters, police officers, EMTs, doctors, nurses, clergy, volunteers, and countless others who responded with remarkable courage, selflessness, and sacrifice.

The Catholic Charities network, as it always does in times of difficulty, responded with an outpouring of support. Thanks to the generosity of donors across the nation, Catholic Charities USA distributed $31 million to Catholic Charities agencies providing counseling, comfort, and care to those directly affected.

Twenty-five years later, 9/11 reminds us of who we are called to be: people who see suffering and respond with love, dignity, and hope. May we all always remember those we lost and those who served. And may we continue to turn remembrance into service, compassion, and action.
