The Plate Boundary Observatory (PBO) is one of the largest networks ever made to measure how Earth's crust moves and deforms across western North America. ⛰️

In AGU's Perspectives, Zawacki et al. reflect on the PBO's conception, design, and implementation, highlighting the scientific, technological, and organizational lessons that continue to shape continental-scale geodesy.

🌊Today, we wrap up the AGU Chapman Conference on Projections of Future Sea Level at the Students' Society of McGill University in Montréal, Canada, and online. 🍁

Over the past week, scientists, practitioners, and decision-makers came together to advance sea-level rise projections and explore their applications for adaptation and decision-making. Discussions covered topics including climate emulation, sterodynamic sea level, glaciers, ice sheets, AMOC, vertical land motion, extreme sea levels, implementation, and attribution.

Attendees also took part in a field excursion along the St. Lawrence River, exploring flood risk, adaptation strategies, and water management with scientific and municipal experts.

🙏Thank you to everyone who attended this Chapman Conference and contributed to its success, making it a truly memorable experience.

📲Swipe through for a look back at an incredible week of science, collaboration, and community in Montréal.
